Hi Ody, thanks so very much for taking the time to reply to me. I know Michael used to wear it back in the '80's and 90's and since then hasn't really bothered with another fragrance but I must admit I love a man to wear some. So thought as his Birthday is coming up on April 20th, I may be able to buy something really nice (price isn't an issue - he's worth it ;-) so am grateful for your up dated recommendations. I will go into the City next week to a quality store and look at the two you have mentioned. If you feel there's anything else I should look at, let me know. And again I just really appreciate you taking the time. I don't know a lot about men's fragrances as I only buy for myself usually. Kindest Regards, Sharlene

    Hello :)
I know it is an old post of yours from back in 2007 where you translated a review of Dimensione Uomo a men's fragrance released back in the 70's. I am actually trying to track down a bottle of this for my boyfriend who used to wear it years ago and always loved it but am not finding it anywhere. Do you know if it is still made and is so, anywhere at all I may be able to purchase it? I was not with him back when he used to wear it, so don't know what it smell's like, so am at loss to chose something else that may be similar?? Any help at all would be so gratefully appreciated. Kind Regards, Sharlene
    Hi Ody -
I've been reading your reviews, and would like to ask for advice. I enjoy very much Terre D'hermes. I like the woodsy (cedar/vetiver), but by the time I got to the drydown, all I could smell on my skin was a very faint musk and powder. I do not really like either of those 2 smells. I did enjoy the subtle rose/floral up front and middle, and the light citrus up front as well, I also liked the benzoin in the middle.
Can you think of something that has those elements, but more woodsy, not musky and no powder drydown? I don't mind the linearity... THANKS for your opinions!
Yes, I totally enjoyed the SF trip. SF is dangerous for me! LOL. Thanks for reaching out.!!!
You're welcome, Ody! I've seen you around, but nice to finally make our friendship "official." Have fun in SF, and LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU BUY!
    Hey Ody!

I just wanted to say you're one of my favorite reviewers on this site, and I enjoy your zen-like approach. We have similar tastes as well - I love fresh citrus and green fragrances, as well as classic aromatic fougeres and chypres. I can't stand most of the overly sweet or heavy orientals and tooty-frooty scents that most people my age enjoy (I'm 18). Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks odysseum. I have never smelled Polo Crest, and won't be paying big bucks for it - I will probably be outbid as it is on ebay. I have told my wife I intend to cull my collection, so I probably need to even curtail buying this one.
    Hello Ody

Thank you for the hearty welcome!..Reading some of the visitor comments i realize that you are the go to guy for green scents and i hope to benefit from your knowledge so that i may makes a wise choice when selecting a new fragrance for myself :)
Thank you ody, I already have a sample of Eloge du Traitre on the way, good to see I'm on the right track. The fragrance I seek need not be overwhelmingly animalic - perhaps a light musk or ambrette would even be enough. But it should be intensely bitterly green. "Powerful" is probably a good way to put it.
Oh Grand Poobah of "green" notes, I come to you with a question and request for comments and suggestions.

Herbissimo, it's getting harder to find it, which one would you recommend as being "greener" and masculine. I get the feeling Te Verde would be more uni.

Also have you had a chance to compare Nobile Gucci and Nobile Royalty? I'm wondering if I should bother putting out more money for Gucci when Nobile Royalty might do easily.

    Thanks.
    Hello Ody,

Thank you for sharing your recommendations with me. I've been meaning to sample Cypres-Musc for some time, so thanks for reminding me! Hopefully, I can find samples/decants of C-M, 4 Voleurs and Olibanum. Part of the fun in this hobby is trying to track these darn things down.

    All the best,

    Oproust
    Hello Odysseusm,

Like you, I enjoy coniferous/pine scents. Currently my favorite is Fou d'Absinthe. I 've tried or own Epicea, Polo, Pino and a few others. Are there any that you really enjoy that you recommend I try?

    Thanks much,

    Oproust
I had a wonderful time this morning, trying to guess the Blind Sniffs set up by you and Debbborra. I will always remember Pino Silvestre from now on!! Have a wonderful day and see you tomorrow for Day 2.
    DEAR Odysseum,
I could find your review of F! Fragonard. Since after a neutral period I started to appreciate very much it, and since I'm interested in Galimard, I'd ask more suggestions on possible choices. I found positive ratings of Monsieur Galimard, and the only Lem comment is yours.
Would you be so kind to find some similarities of Lem, just to guide me a little bit more? on the pyramid it seems INTERESTING for me, but I'd like an overall view...before to ordert the 500 ml bottle....thank you very much and congratulations for your reviews, I really like!

    Corrado
Well, the little guy was supposed to do a funny birthday dance. But, something went wrong when I resized the graphic. I'll try again, but if it still doesn't work, know that my itentions were honorable. :)
