The sweetness of this fragrance seems to overpower the patchouli, making it difficult to detect. While there is a slight herbal note, it quickly transitions to a chocolatey scent. Unfortunately, there isn't much of the earthy or green patchouli notes that one might expect. The fragrance has great performance and longevity, but I found it to be too one-dimensional. Additionally, there was a slightly medicinal quality that didn't sit well with me. Some people have mentioned a licorice note, but I wasn't able to discern it. In the end, I ended up selling my bottle.

I remember I disliked it before - I found it too dusty, too muted and too earthy, but I retried the new blue bottle and really enjoyed it. It's smooth, warm and lovely. Unisex. The scent components make some quite unique smelling fragrance. Will retry again.
(I'm talking about the blue modern bottle - the purple one is the one I disliked, and the blue 2021 one is the one I dig, but I'm not sure if they're actually any different, maybe just my nose grew up)

Like it says on the label, it’s vanilla and patchouli. Smooth, good quality, strong, long-lasting. Another well-priced treat from Molinard. If you like the idea of a warm and sweet vanilla-patchouli combination, it’s a safe blind buy. No, it’s not Coromandel, but it still holds its own in this category. Thumbs up.
