Tabac Dore is in a word, "luscious". Wet smelling, slightly sweet tobacco that is at the same time slightly dry...but it's more moist than it is dry. A very strong fragrance that doesn't require much to envelope you in a cloud of incredible beauty all day. Musk Cologne is still probably my favorite Bortnikoff, but Tabac Dore is right there with it. It's a stunning achievement and is definitely my favorite tobacco fragrance, which is saying something as there are so many that are wonderful and that I also love.
Okay, another one word description for this incredible fragrance, "transcendent". It takes me to an amazing place, and I love going there with Tabac Dore. Two thumbs up as high as possible.
This is an out of this world scent that is one of those where luxurious beauty is achieved without any concerns to price. Tabac Doré is of the highest quality. The opening is quite smoky. The tobacco is big, round and sumptuous. It totally smells like the smoke in your hair the day after a bonfire. But that quickly turns into a sweet, ambery, balsamic cloud of awesomeness. Oud itself hides very shyly in the background. This scent is strictly winter, maybe late fall, and feels very formal to me. If you like tobacco, then thi ls is quite possibly the intense fragrance you've always been looking for.ADVERTISEMENT
This is tobacco-oud done right. It's a great balance between woods and oud, with a touch of muskiness in the opening ... and the more resinous notes which bridge the gap to the tobacco backbone. It never becomes too sweet, although the layers of gourmand and balsam notes light up the landscape. This is what I want to smell like. One of my favorites from the house.
