Great weekend or casual scent in my opinion. It is old school and not for everyone... for the price it is a safe blind buy... if you don't like it your uncle or dad will lol. It's not too strong and lasts about 5 hours on skin. Worth a sniff... Enjoy!

A gunmetal and herb fougère.
I don't know why this won a FiFi, I find it peremptory
and rather boring.

[Vintage miniature]

Imagine him with Jacqueline Bisset in the early sequence of "Bullitt";the yellow flowers on the table, his coat, red candles in the background, cello and guitar, the girl with the hanging hair playing the flute, the flow focus camera moves, and her smile.a movie with colts, mustangs, raincoats,Jacqueline Bissets, jazz and the low and high streets of san francisco and the airport floodlights.he is Steve McQueen. an introverted and determined character, with a cool look that traps deep emotions inside him. This is a true old school gorgeous men's fragrance that need a strong character profile like Steve McQueen in that movie.

One of the first fragrances i fell in love with it,when i first got into fragrance.Like a full orchestra.from the deepest, darkest drum and bass to the warmth of brass to the talcum, breezy whisper of flutes,it is a fully fleshed out piece of music. a very complete luxury scent from presentation to dry down.slightly leathery, woody, smoky, dark, mysterious and mossy with no sharp edges.he opening is green citrus with spicy caraway and galbanum.it then moves to a classic floral heart as it begins settling with notes of lavender, carnation, geranium and rose (however it's not in the list but my nose feeling it) and finally settles into a leathery mossy chypre base comprised of patchouli, leather and oakmoss.the patchouli is not sweet here not earthy.the result is this legendry creation of Oscar de la Renta.the longevity is outstanding, pulsating from the skin like a heartbeat in the heat of the night.

This is a nice fragrance. I've had moments when I could fully embrace and appreciate it. Other times, it makes me think of a car air freshener. But then again, maybe a cool car air freshener.

It falls a little short, for my tastes, for something I would want to wear often.

At the same time, it's too haunting and immersive for a neutral.

Vintage formula tested.

A blast of light cinimmon dominates the opening, but not a foody type. An un-powdery powder note carries the opening through the drydown, picking up other scents along the way. This powder is not the dandy-like barbershop type of powder from the likes of Tiffany for Men or Dunhill Edition, but more masculine and rough around the edges.

Beast-mode projection on just 3 sprays, all-day longevity and then some, this was well worth the price of admission.

Great scent, great quality, great ingredients.

There is something very dark blue about this fragrance, and it's not just the glass of the bottle.

It smells like the color Indigo to me, maybe indigo velvet. Yes, this is a leather scent, but theres something dark, fruity and rich about it. This one is much more than the sum of its parts! To see the note pyramid, it's kind of hard to believe those things equal THIS scent. It's just really well blended. I have experienced scents where I can tell "ah, that's heliotrope". Not here. It smells like itself rather than its ingredients.

It's an extremely unique scent that is difficult to describe in words. Whatever it is, I think it's a masterpiece.
