Great musk scent. Monsieur musk and City Musk are my favorite colognes. The Dana Monsieur is not good now. The scent changes often. But about 5 years ago it was great. The Coty is amazing and consistent bottle to bottle.

Smooth, sexy classic oriental pseudo-musk scent that should be a part of any young man's rite of passage. :-)

I say pseudo-musk because its musk isn't nearly as convincing as, say, Coty's animalic creation Wild Musk (can hear the tv ad now, "IT MUST BE THE MUUUUSK: COTY WIIIILD MUUUSK...IT MUST BE THE MUSK!")

Coty Musk for Men is a laid back, spicy-woody oriental with a scintilla of musk detectable to the senses. It's a reserved gentleman's musk scent that won't come across as too beastly, rather polite and restrained. Judging from the commercials I used to see of Coty Musk, it's a cologne that does its job well but not for the most obvious reason: The musk itself, per se.

I never had a cloying moment beholding the warm, spicy quality after-shave effect of Coty Musk for Men. Even today, if I didn't feel obliged to try one of the zillion options in my collection, CMfM can cover me without regrets.

This simple, basic and dependable scent is definitely a drugstore staple, so it's not impossible to check out without having to buy it. I still consider it a classic alongside favorites like Stetson Cologne, Royal Copenhagen, Old Spice, and other legendary scents.

I like this stuff. A very basic male version of 'sweet'. Reminds me a little of Brut. Does NOT remind me of Canoe, which smells like cotton candy to me. Somewhat similar to Clubman, and and maybe less 'complex', but stronger and longer-lasting. Definitely not like Royal Copenhagen, which never did anything for me; neither did Jade East, as far as those 'types' of fragrances go. Also not like Jovan Musk for Men - also by Coty - which has some notes that I just don't like.

I get an opening of citrus and lavender to form a barbershop talc powder note. A similar approach to Jade East, Brut, and Clubman but this powder note isn't as hefty. A dark/bittersweet oriental spice comes forward and colors the powder note a "dark brown". Musk is in the finish, but this creeps through the oriental spice for a dirtier and more manly result with killing the smoothness.

Musk for Men by Coty is a nice scent for daily wear even as rudimentary as it is. This one is one of the more manly musk scents out there. This one goes subtle within minutes but you can faintly detect it for 6-8 hours. A basic design and very light projection were the reasons it was one of the cheapest colognes in a drugstore.

I saw a bottle of this at Wal-Mart today while shopping for groceries. I hadn't worn any fragrance today and figured I'd spritz some on. I'm really loving it! I stopped by my mom's before hitting home and she commented on it, saying it reminded her of the 70's and that she liked it. It DOES bring me back to the 70's when I'd get cologne sets for Christmas with soap on a rope and talcum powder sets.

It's definitely a one-noter. The one note is good. Sweet. Clean. Masculine...but in an old school way, not like today's 'masculine' which is metrosexual and fraught with androgyny. Nothing wrong with being 'metrosexual' at all. Don't get me wrong. This is just straight up 'guy getting a shave at the barber'. Something very charming about it however dated it is.

It's not lasting very long. I sprayed the one blast on at 1:30 and at 5:30 it's barely hanging in there. At less than $10 for a bottle, I'm going back later to pick up a bottle. It'll be great for after the gym.

a formidable barbershop/talc as simple as it gets. very clean and fresh. nice on a day you want something simple and plain to put on. nice for milder weather..

Pinaud Clubman minus most of Clubman's endearing orange-citrus-something opener. This is a nice, sweet creamy synthetic talc, warm and unpretentiously simple. Pretty much no development, not that one would expect complexity and evolution from a $10 drug store fragrance. Pleasant and sweet, like a bag of twizzlers.

Coty Musk For Men almost garners a thumbs-down from me for the following reasons. First, it's not a musk scent. It's a barbershop powder, pure and simple. Second, it's a barbershop powder, which means there are many, many products like it. The others have been around longer; in the case of Canoe, much longer. I love these fougeres that include Clubman by Pinaud, the aforementioned Canoe, Jade East, Royal Copenhagen (my fave along with Clubman), Fred Hayman's Touch For Men, et cetera. All of the foregoing are inexpensive, readily available and have formidable sillage and longevity. Since the Coty has neither of the latter two traits, I can't recommend it in any way. While it lasts its smells pretty good so I can't feed it to the lions but any of the other baby powder purveyors is a superior choice.

Okay.....this smells like Wild Country/Brut/Canoe, however the "baby wipe" note that turned me off for Wild Country is less prominent here. Still there, but less prominent. More musk and moss, especially in the drydown.Longevity is a bit lacking on me, but this is tied with Brut for my favorite out of the whole Canoe clone/cheap barbershop fougere criteria.

This fragrance is a favorite of mine. It smells so sweet and clean. Its longevity is not bad either, though it could be a bit better. It seems to be the type of scent that people don't tend to rave about. Usually when I wear this and ask friends of family how it smells, i get comments such as; "hmm...its ok" or "its alright". So with that said, its not the scent that will have everyone flocking around you, but...it wont repel anyone either. As for me, I love it and I will keep buying it. It is a good scent for every day use. Its not too strong, not too weak, just right, therefore...I LOVE IT!

Formulations change over time, and often not for the better, of course. I have a 1970's vintage 'Coty Div Pfizer' bottle, and it is pure barbershop retro. Very musky and different from Jovan and most other recent men's 'musk' colognes. It has that dirty edge to it that makes the long-lost 10-year old in me remember what it felt like to have a fresh haircut and some 'Real Man' cologne smeared behind my ears. Awesome!

This is lame. It just smells like a weak knockoff of Pinaud Clubman with synthetic musk added to it. Not terrible, but boring as shit.

No complexity, no strength, no character, and therefore no interest here. Old school, yes. But something I would reach for in the morning? No way. This is about as interesting as eating Saltines with a glass of mineral water.

I like this - it reminds me of freshly cleaned sheets blowing in the wind. $11 at drug stores in my area - can't go wrong with that price because there is absolutely nothing offensive about this, not like other cheap frags. This doesn't try too hard and therefore succeeds.

While I definitely can smell the relation to Pinaud Clubman and "Barbershop," this scent also reminds me a lot of Helmut Lang Men. In fact so much did it that I ditched my bottle of it and decided to just use this instead.Oh, the sacrilege I know! But $8 a bottle is preferred to $45 (or more) in my book. :)

Nice, inoffensive fragrance, highly reminiscent of Pinaud Clubman. Perfect for a casual day, but easy to over-apply. Go easy, since it lasts forever.

I agree with Eric... a nice "barbershop" scent. This is my all-time favorite and I'm still wearing it 20+ years later. I like Jovan too, but this is a full step up the ladder. Not very pricey... a very good value for the money. Give it a chance and a try, boys.

Love this stuff!!! Doesn't really smell, like a musk. Very light, innocent, not sexy. Still a nice clean scent. I always receive compliments. Downside is it only seems to show up around holidays these days.

My favorite drug store musk. Not overpowering, clean but not white musk. Smells like a barber shop scent.

i've used the spray version for 20 years as a supplement to or, occasionally, as a replacement for deodorant and it has never failed to elicit a positive response from women. i've tried a host of replacements and would be lost if Coty ever discontinued this product. i think my personal chemistry must blend perfectly with the ingredients as it "burns" very well into, as i've been told, a very, very pleasant result. the best thing is it's subtle. like they say, it's a fine line between aroma therapy and chemical warfare. :)
