I really use to love the magnolia's aroma which I find so incredibly elegant and temperamental. Frankly among several (more renowned) magnolia-centered concoctions I've random tested around Acqua di Profumo Magnolia from L'Erbolario seems to be the one that better manages to fully capture the incredibly elegant, vegetal and spicy-exotic vibe of this flower. I catch some vague citrus, surely lily of the valley, a touch of green tea and a final musk in the mix. I don't find the perfume particularly synthetic, on the contrary it waves in the air somewhat realistically and almost natural. I get a connections with several sharply aqueous floral-musky concoctions a la V&A Muguet Blanc, L'Eau d'Issey woman or Chloe' New. The final aroma is stout and sensual with all the visceral floral intensity of the wonderful main note. Big thumbs up.
