A true chypre, green, mossy, with some definite fruity notes. Yes, it is definitely a green chypre, reminding me slightly of Estee Lauder's Aliage (not as sharply green as Aliage), Azuree and even a bit of Cinnabar. It is difficult to find fault in these classic, timeless creations. Even if the painting would reflect its time, when its made by a master it can be enjoyed and its beauty seen in any era. Quality never goes out of style. There is a lingering quality to this scent that is pleasing, it kind of like attaches itself to all the different receptorcites in your nose, tickling it, leading you into the secret forest, pointing out different plants on the way and you follow because you are curious, what is this scent, and what is this?

The notes are all the ones above oakmoss tempered with old fashioned florals, feminine and yet spiced enough to be sharp. It really does unfold in equal parts sharp oakmoss and lush floral oriental combination, never losing touch with the other half. It's a great perfume. But it has its role. Vintage Jil Sandar is a scent a woman wears that seems like it's just seeped into her pores, and then she radiates this amazing magical mossy goodness all day all night, even if she only applies every other day. A green-eyed and bronze skinned woman. She is a woman of a certain age, in heels, with a purse that matches the shoes or thin belt, a very put-together woman who wants to smell sophisticated, together, smart, punctual, a bit demanding and yet feminine enough to have.

This perfume is perfect for a summer day or if you want to smell fresh and beautiful without any overpowering smell. It gives of a fresh and clean, sophisticated scent while avoiding smelling too soapy or green. Excellent for summer and days at the office!
