An always pleasant, fresh woody scent that always elicits compliments when I wear it. Bought it dirt cheap at Sephora ($10) about ten years ago; still is delightful and stands out from others in this category.

Zanzibar Sport?

Gigli Man is a dewy, soft woody scent which smells blurred in a way. I liken it to a damper version of VC&A's Zanzibar, which has a very similar feel and weight. GM is pleasant and quite discreet, but its incredible meekness makes it viable only in an office or on a very hot day. It fades to a gentle musk within the hour, and the base notes are barely present enough to keep themselves together. The lovable opening of cinnamon and pepper combined with fruits which manage to mimic apple manages to charm for a few minutes before the swift dissipation of the top and heart begins. Perhaps an EDP could save this composition?

I've tested recently the Gigli Man new formulation (green color of the fragrance) and i'm not exactly sure whether it's the new version of this one or what else, just can write i found it overly detergent, far light years from my favorite (and horribly disappeared) Romeo Gigli by Romeo Gigli. Today this pale version is a poor laundry/detergent (finally soapy) tea/chamomile (probably the bamboo effect) with musky accents, some woods, an orangy vibe and a huge quantity of spices as cinnamon and cloves i suppose. Frankly nothing special.

After some more time with this one, I like it even more. It's not the most magnificent scent in the world but it's worth way more than the $20 I paid for it when I compare it to other cheap smells.

More DASH, than CASH !!

A soft wispy quality of this eau de toilette's fruity/floral aspect came across a tad "effeminate" for my first.

But it warms up nicely with my body heat, and the woodiness becomes more palpable. Which just makes it over the side of "masculine" for me -as a light, woody-citrus tonic, well suited for spring and summer. Although modern in composition, it's simplicity emit a classic vibe. What sets this apart from others of this kind in the "eau" genre, is it's treatment of yuzu. By pairing it with a reedy bamboo, (Alberto)Morillas effectively places Gigli Man in an exoctic locale. This Gigli Man is well travelled, romantic... and genteel... Like a modern day prince, effortless in his charm.

Not a scent I took to immediately. But has become a "sleeper" hit in my collection. A prime example of the brilliance of Alberto Morillas, and especially recommended for the unbelievably low price this fetches. Gigli Man is a prince's scent, for a pauper's wallet.

Longevity: 7/10 (in base)
Sillage/Projection (summer temp.):7.5/10 (in mid)
Art/Creatives: 7/10 (Bottle and Composition)
How: casual, youthful (but all ages), daytime,
clean-cut, charming, spring/summer, work or play.

Quality fragrance that smells great and is perfect for a work fragrance. There's not much to get excited about, but it sells for a great price and the amount of use you'll get out it makes it an excellent bang for buck. Well worth the asking price and a pleasure to wear. Giving it a neutral simply because it's not something that stands out from the crowd.
