Reviews of Euphoria Men by Calvin Klein

What a surprise. This is not boring to me. It is interesting. It reminds me of a modern, high-end retail shopping mall. It smells fruity without being sweet. There's no thick, suffocating vanilla in it (which is unfortunately ubiquitous these days). It is light and polite.
Brazilian redwood offers some coniferousness I seek, but it is very subtle. That's okay in this case because it helps to keep it from being too fruity. I like this very much. I'm not a beast-mode seeker, so this is right up my alley. Unexpected and delighted. Keeping it.

Pretty nice on the initial blast. It's woody and a bit spicy, yet a touch of sweetness. A fresh, spicy and alluring, masculine fragrance. Hard to really not like the opening overall. The dry-down, however, is the absolute definition of boring and generic, and I get a shallow and synthetic vibe. Retains the CK dna, and it has the potential to be a nice scent, it's just overly safe and I could see it worn for all occasions, it's fresh enough for after the gym, mild enough for work, spicy enough for a date night, etc.
What I don't particularly like (and have grown to truly DESPISE) about Euphoria is the complete lack of focus, depth, and refinement, and offensively generic nature of the scent after the opening dies down. It's very synthetic, and truly smells just like a department store perfume counter. It's very easy to smell it and think "oh, someone put on cologne" but you would be hard pressed to differentiate this fragrance from a TON of other male frags. Overall, an okay smelling, safe scent, but it will not blow you away, it truly is like a glorified body spray:generally pleasant, but insanely shallow, boring, it doesn't even pretend to try to be anything new and exciting with depth . Longevity is not bad, better than Eternity, but again it's so damn boring after the opening, so you might want to top it off after an hour or two. Still, overall, you could do MUCH worse for a first scent, for a young man, etc., but I find it criminally generic

Tries to combine Cool Water, Egoiste, Allure pour homme and a little bit of Fahrenheit in one scent and fails miserably. A horrible miss-mash.

The drydown adds a pleasant, slightly sweet, slightly watery herbal element, that is combined with a nonspecific woodsy undertone.
The base is characterised (not meaning it had actual character!) by a pleasant, slightly sweet, and thinned down mix of a nonspecific white amber impression with a soft patchouli. The patchouli is light and lacks any harshness or darkness.
I get moderate sillage, limited projection and eight hours of longevity on my skin.
This is a pleasant spring scent that is quite thinned, anaemic and without any intensity or colour. It seems anaemic and watered down to an extent that it looses whatever personality it might have developed - certainly it has less character than Eternity for Men! Add to that the fact that it's is super-synthetic and bland, then it is clear why this represents olfactory tedium and mediocrity at its fines.
Not bad - just very dull.
No Euphoria here! 2.5/5

The opening of Euphoria Men is very much of its period, featuring fruit-candy tartness like Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce Cologne (2002), Kenneth Cole New York Men (2002), Ralph Lauren Polo Black (2005), Carolina Herrera Chic for Men (2004), and countless others. After this, Euphoria Men starts walking its own path with subtle rounded spice a la ginger and pink pepper, adding some body without smelling actually piquant. Sage and an amalgam of synthetic musks lay over clearwood and some other early woody-amber stuff in the days before they became absolute hate on the nose, giving more nondescript body that competes with the odd sour citrus cherry Jolly Rancher opening and flits of spice. Eventually patchouli, a subtle suede, and a "rain accord" that brings a sort of fresh transparency to the scent just like Truth Men by Calvin Klein (2002) had. Euphoria Men is nowhere near as bombastic compared to Fierce or Chic, being more of a youthful "sexy" semi-ozonic fruity/woody musk thing that lingers for a considerable time without smelling like it's trying to be noticed. Best use for something like this would be a romantic evening, or casual wear in a settling where temperatures are moderate. They made an intense version of this the following year if you want your Euphoria with a kick to the gonads. Some think there was a bit of bait and switch to get people to buy both bottles, but I can't say.
I used to be pretty indifferent to this fragrance, and part of my reasoning was echoing the old FragComm "bloggosphere" in the days before YouTuber cults of personality began dictating taste in the hobbyist spaces; I called this release vapid and insubstantial, a clear cop-out to trend and too many cooks stirring a single pot resulting in muddled stew. I see now that Carlos Benaim, Jean-Marc Chaillan, Long Doc, and Dominique Ropion under supervision of Ann Gottleib weren't trying to follow a commercial recipe for success and taking turns chipping away at it, they were all just trying to figure out how to make "unstoppable passion" into scents for him and her, coming up with a fragrance line quiet enough to be seductive, but easy-going enough for the come-hither charm to even get off the ground. In essence, they were sorta doomed from the start, and made something so plasticene, so abstract, so of-the-moment yet non-committal to that theme, they made the equivalent of a Banksy piece in scent form. This isn't Fierce or Chic, but someone's flawed memory of those scents, who hasn't actually smelled them in 15 years. That's why I like Euphoria Men now and think it's worth perusing, as it's fallible Human memory of 2000's men's fragrance, bottled. Thumbs up

This smells casual and unrefined. Could be worn day or night and seems okay for most seasons except colder months.
Average projection but it is noticeable.

Calvin Klein fragrances deserve a lifetime achievement award for keeping discount bins full across the world.

Smells lovely at the begining by ginger and pepper as elevates your mood Instantly but fades away hradually to a pretty ordinary and faint soapy base notes.this composition is light and youthful and not too romantic for me.
EUPHORIA is good for rainy days and It's light enough to wear during the summer. perfect for everyday use and In my opinion appropriate for a young, calm man that confident of himself.anyway If you are a fan of CK fragrances you will enjoy it.

I like this stuff.
But I recognize it's limited.
But I like the Calvin Klein DNA or base, and I like this Euphoria Men juice.
For me, it's almost the opposite of the people worried about projection and longevity. This smells slightly edgy to me, and I'm glad the projection isn't too strong. The key with this juice is that the staying power is strong to my nose. I almost never get comments, but someone did comment that this stuff was projecting, so I rate the performance on this juice as ok, just fine.
The smell is good but not fantastic. But the performance, for me, is a bonus, and pushes it into the "like" zone. A little sweet. A little flowery. A little synthetic. But I like it.
Smelling it again, I'm reminded of Azzaro Chrome, and that one reminded me of CK One.

I'm a 19 year old EMT, wanted something I could throw on during work. For obvious reasons, it can't be super strong or cloying in the slightest. Technically, I can get written up for even wearing too strong of a deodorant, so this is pretty good.
I don't know if I'm just lucky, but this has some staying power for me. I bought it today and wore it for the first time, it's now about 4 hours later and I still get a whiff every once in a while. Several people commented throughout the night.
I would say the projection is eh. Normally I wear really strong colognes, that you can catch from a few feet off (think Polo original). This is not like that (then again, that's what I wanted). Everyone that smelt it was very close, mostly girls that were close to me.
I'm not adept enough to pick out individual tones, yet. I do smell the pepper that people have commented of, a little ginger at the beginning. I think it's a good scent, not my favorite, but I got a nice sized bottle for $35 (Christmas sale, although that's the typical price on Amazon, but I didn't want to blind buy), so I'm not complaining.

I got into soap making 20 years ago, which got me into essential oils and eventually, trying to blend my own cologne... Less than satifactory results with my own led me to try bay rum and then Old Spice, which I've used for the last couple years BUT, have found it to have a cloying, lingering scent: what I smell in my coat closet I don't like.
I smelled a women's perfume that I liked and found out it was Euphoria by Calvin Klein.
I found there was a matching scent for men, but didn't want to order without smelling and went to my local Macy's to check it out. I liked it and bought a gift set to try. The regular Euphoria, not the Intense, though I DO like the Intense and the two are VERY similar. Two hours later and I still like it. Compared to Obsession (which I've worn in the past), it's not nearly as spicy and as has been noted by others, has perhaps the best suede/leather afternote I've ever come across.
I'm not sure what the beef is about "staying power". My needs are simple: I a) want to smell good and b) don't want to knock people over when walking into a room and c) am somewhat scent-shy. As long as my lady can smell it a few hours after application, I'm fine. I don't mind reapplying in the evening.
Try it: you'll like it...
EDIT: October 2014 - Married in May, my wife loves this on me. I've grown to like it as well, very much. It doesn't knock anyone down upon entering a room, yet I can still smell it at the end of the day, though faintly. Yes, I must admit, as do others, that I wish it was tiny bit more robust, but this is a keeper...

I am a huge fan of Calvin Klein fragrances - I have several of them in my collection and will add more... I was tremendously excited to try Euphoria - even while there are many nay-sayers out there criticizing the longevity. My assessment of Euphoria is that it is a great scent and the nay-sayers are correct - the longevity is weak to poor.
Out of the bottle, Euphoria is a successful blend of ginger pepper and suede notes that is a great scent. Soon after the initial application, the fragrance settles close to the skin. The projection, sillage, and longevity are weak with the longevity at 3 hours at best. While no compliments have been received to date - the fragrance is quite pleasant and I am certain that with time and continued wear - they will come.
The bottle and packaging are traditional Calvin Klein - first class. This is another bottle that I am very fond - you folks know the drill - I prefer the clear bottles that show the clarity of the fragrance. Euphoria is a scent that offers great flexibility in that can be worn during any season and for any event. Lastly, the price/value is good - the going rate is less than $30 for the smaller bottle. Not too shabby...
My final tally for Calvin Klein's Euphoria is 4.0 stars out of 5 stars. I really like the scent, but due to weak longevity, I can not evaluate higher or strongly endorse. If you are a fan of CK's fragrance - add it to your collection. Play like a champion every play and every game - it may make a difference...

A rather acrid and contrived opening employs a villainous combination of ginger and pepper notes, and It is no small mercy that this episode of ersatz piquancy is short-lived. Beyond this excessively chemical opening, Euphoria does jettison much of the ugliness and enters a calmer and more balanced phase. The problem here is that it has virtually no presence on my skin. I could probably extract as much potency from a sample printed in a magazine. The relatively brief lifespan is largely spent between two states, namely bad and bland. Sadly, Euphoria is yet another entrant in the long list of Calvin Klein failures. Avoid.

It is spicy and aquatic/fresh at the same time.
