I am searching once again for perhaps a new "signature" fragrance. After lots of hype about Delina EDP and Delina Exclusif, I decided to give both fragrances a try.

Thankfully there is NO tart, vegetal, fruity opening blast with the Exclusif, something I dislike with Delina EDP. And with that said, I detect pear, vanilla, cream, powdery-notes and enormous rose upon applying Delina Exclusif.

So, on me this settles as a VERY powdery, creamy rose fragrance with vanilla & dense amber landing notes. I once again detect zero incense, little woody oud...nothing reminiscent of such notes.

Sigh...a nice enough fragrance, yet another disappointment. I really enjoy resinous, incense-y, woody fragrances with some feminine floral touches. While nice enough, I regret having purchased a full bottle of Delina Exclusif hoping it would lean towards its oriental, woody, incense-y description.

I'll wear this perfume 'til it's gone but I would never own it again. And I do not think I would wear this fragrance on any regular basis.

An opening of rich vanilla, light sweet litchi and faint florals gives way to aggressive, screaming wood notes that kill it. The rose gets super sweet and sugary on me and cloys. I can see where people like this, but that wood note is so harsh, I can't understand why people don't notice it. This also fades very fast into nothing much on me. Way overpriced, seriously over hyped. It disappointed me greatly.

This is one of my favorites, it doesn’t have the lovely bite in the opening that the original has, but what it has instead is a fluffy creaminess in the dry down. Be careful not to over spray because this one is a beast. Incredibly long wearing and very high projection/sillage. I know that it says that there’s oud in the notes, but I don’t smell anything harsh or barnyard, or even woody with this, so I wouldn’t base your decision to purchase or not purchase based on that note being there because I don’t really detect anything of the sort. This perfume is a major compliment getter, I don’t buy perfumes for that reason, but it’s nice to know which ones do have that effect on those around you. And I would definitely say that she’s a major extrovert, so if you’re an introvert like me, you probably won’t want to wear it everyday. I haven’t experienced summer with this bottle, so I don’t yet know how it performs in the heat, but I imagine that it might be a bit stifling on the hottest of days. And so far, I would say that it’s fine for winter, autumn, and spring. I personally would wear day or night and not reserve this for special occasions. While I don’t think it has a super sexy vibe, it’s definitely an attention grabber. Only you can determine if a fragrance is worth the retail price, but I would say that this as well as the original Delina are definitely unique, and I’ve never smelled any other fragrances that are like them. I do completely see why the hype surrounds them.

ETA UPDATE December 6, 2022:

This is just way too strong. I think I’m officially out of love with it. When I had first tried it, it was new and novel, nothing like anything I had ever experienced in perfumery. But it’s so strong that even with one spray… it’s screaming, “look at me! Look at me!”

And the scent itself isn’t the best either. When you are new to it, it seems like it is, but now that I’ve had it for a fairly long time, it really just seems like the entire composition is based on being the loudest person in life. There are other compositions by Quentin Bisch that I appreciate way more than this. So at this point, I think I have my first truly regretted purchase. I will most likely sell this. I haven’t used it very much.

The opening really caught my attention. It smells better than the original. However, it is not worth over $400 CAD. The most I would pay is 200.
