Reviews of Classique Eau de Parfum by Jean Paul Gaultier

This was a little bit of a mistake for me, but we shall call it a happy one. I got confused by the crazy amount of different bottle and thought I was buying the edt, but nope. Oops. I adore this though. I get a strong powdery vanilla scent that’s a delight to wear and lasts many hours… as all my fragrances from JPG do. I do love it, so I’m very much not disappointed by my mistake.

It's a gorgeous and slightly heady, slightly floral and seriously boozy vanilla scent. Intoxicating. Strong. Sexy.

Unfortunately, my nose and brain react very strangely to this scent - there are days when I can't smell it at all, there are days when I feel it so strongly that one or two sprays feels suffocating, and then there are days when it feels like it should - as this gorgeous, lush boozy-floral vanilla. It's more a nighttime or cool weather scent in my head.

How does it compare with the classic Classique Eau de Toilette? Well, original Classique Eau de Toilette is all about orange blossom and its interaction with vanilla, therefore it feels much more floral and its sweetness feels more delicate and more tropical. Classique Eau de Parfum is all about the boozy vanilla, it feels slightly more powdery, slightly darker and more heavy. I personally prefer EDP to original EDT, but that's me, I also prefer booze to flowers, you know.
