Reviews of Ambre et Vanille by E.Coudray

An orangey opening blast, freshened up with lashings of bergamot and made smoother and creamer by an ylang-ylang that is quite pleasant. Soon a light amber arises that adds further depth. This combination of fresh and smooth sets the tone for most of the further development that I encountered in this case.

In the heart notes the fresh side is represented by a citrus/heliotrope impression, with the amber lingering on very notably. The smoother shows up as a cinnamon note, which contains whiffs of almonds at times. This vanilla increases in prominence over time, accentuated by a soft but bright patchouli.

I get moderate sillage, excellent projection and seven hours of longevity on my skin.

An autumn scent for warmer days that is maybe not very creative, but smooth and rich, and never too thick and cloying owing to the fresher touches that introduce some balance into the whole. 3.25/5.

Oh I love this scent. It is luscious, comforting and sultry. I wear this on nights out in the winter months and sit back and wait for the compliments to roll in.
Vanilla - yes for sure, but supported by lashings of amber and goodness knows what else.
This is the perfume of a pampered goddess.Put it on and you will purr all night. I can smell it the next day too, almost 14 hours later. Now that's value for money!

Not exactly amber or vanilla to my nose, but a syrupy & slightly soapy almond. Around 45 minutes in, a deliciously nutty labdanum note makes an appearance, & remains for the duration. As l adore labdanum, this saves the fragrance from being unremarkable, & makes it a very pleasant, if unchallenging, comfort scent to me.
The body cream is worth a mention here; it is more amber-dominant, highly-scented, rich & very luxurious to use.

More amber than vanilla, a very creamy and smooth starring amber slightly characterized by a touch of syrupy and citric cinnamon that turns the smell in to a sort of rice cream-body lotion with its touch of neutral laundry feel and moderate mildness. The general atmosphere reminds the hammam habitats or the hot "steamy" victorian bath rooms-aroma (I recall on mind the more complex and beautiful Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet just for several of its balmy facets). There is something soapy, classic and neutral as a bath foam in the air. I smell also something slightly aromatic or airy as fern of some aromatic herbs. It's very comforting and clean as a cloud full of soap dish bubbles. The final outcome is talky but mysteriously sophisticated. Romantic. Not bad at all.

I smell Vanilla and Amber, that's all. It's very pleasant, it would be OK at work, and it costs about $33/3.4 oz.
