The opening blast is fruity/floral, with freesia and redcurrant notes dominating, which, interestingly, are not really sweet, in spite of the notes it is constituted with. Brighter touches contributed by lemon and bergamot make this a positive and uplifting set to top notes.

The rose arises a short while after the start; it is mainly a rose bloom with a few green leafy touches. A nice Sambac jasmine - green mainly - and an elegant ylang-ylang support the rose well; the latter is less fat and less creamy that often found with this floral note otherwise.

The base is a woodsy patchouli impression, which is a lightweight and fairly bright patchouli on me. The woods are expressing a bit of mahogany at times, but overall in is not a very specific wood note. Towards then end I am getting an ambery touch of white musks also; these are, however, a bit pallid on me.

I get moderate sillage, very good projection, and six hours of longevity on my skin.

The name of this spring scent it quite apt, as the rose is in the foreground indeed for quite some time, and the authority of the ingredients and of a very good quality. The base is weaker and less convincing, and less impressive as far as its constituents' vividness and intensity is concerned. Overall 3.5/5.

A beautiful rose that's not too itchy or sweet or acid like many other beautiful roses, but only a beautiful rose nonetheless

Xerjoff Damarose is a fantastic fragrances. The fragrances is well blended, but there are many other fragrances which smells very similar for much cheaper price. If you find this on bargain price definitely get it. This is a long lasting fragrances and projects very well. 8+ hours, lots of compliments as well. It's not the best from the house but it is worth trying out.

Thumbs up b/c I love rose fragrances, and this is a twist on rose. A chypre note, adds a contrast to the rose. Ylang Ylang and musk balance rose. A nice fragrance but worth $600? NO. $600 realm is reserved for Amouage Attars and an occasional Rosa Dove. This isn't worth it.

This doesn't smell too different from a mass marketed fragrance sold in the local mall, a Stella McCartney fragrance, for example, and although the ingredients don't smell precious or unique, this Xerjoff version of a fruity floral does smell well put together. I like the perfumer's work on this, Jacques Flori.

It smells like roses to me for a few minutes, and then it smells more like a rounded fruity floral, easy to wear and enjoy, straight forward and unpretentious smelling.

Stardate 20170606:

A pleasant rose fragrance that starts as almost a soliflore. Then some greens show up. Base has some Amber/vanilla and woods.
Good rose with nice longevity but for price I would rather get the others (LArte, Creed Rose Bulagre, Diva etc).

If you have money go for it
