Lightly creamy patchouli and a mild wood note that is pretty safe. Nothing groundbreaking, but decent. Projection and longevity are average. Perfect for fall and cool evenings. 7/10

May be is the enigmatic note of liquid myrrh that hides the excess of creamy sweetness that collides too much with the almost balsamic  opening from the conifers and aromatic herbs. The beginning is cool and a bit rooty but the smell soon fades towards that common mentholated amber that characterizes many modern appealing (for many but fortunately not for everybody) dusty-ambery-spicy concoctions with an almost watery (citrus, lavender or other) opening and a bombastic final aromatic amber and nutmeg. Obviously this one doesn't exude a strong sinthetic vibe but loses the opportunity to be sharper, greener, more woodsy and less common.

I was tremendously disappointed in this. Birch - cypress - mint seemed very promising to me, and vetiver and myrrh likewise held great promise. I found a very sweet and somewhat dense vanilla-amber scent, and that's all. No thanks. Not green or woody enough to be a chypre, in my opinion.

The drydown of Century is almost identical to Gucci pour homme I. The top though is very nice, and in total, this is more complex and interesting than GPH1. Whether that makes it worth 2X the price of the Gucci is up to you.

Overall, a nice fragrance, especially the opening. The drydown...ehh. Trident sugarless bubblegum to be exact. ;'(
