Re-sniffing YuzuZest (Givaudan) again alongside them all. I still dont think this base smells anything like Yuzu to my nose. At best, it may resemble a "steam distilled" Yuzu because it smells linear, thin and flat, but it smells nothing like Yuzu to me. Honestly....i dont even know what kind of citrus this smells like, lol. Its more like a floralized synthetic-grapefruit that lacks everything that makes Yuzu unique. Maybe pairing this with real lemon and green mandarin oil might make this base come alive....but on its own its pretty underwhelming.

but I can say this....YuzuZest (Giv) is about 2x stronger in scent than the natural Yuzu oils. So if you think about using it as an exact replacer for Yuzu oil (in terms of strength), youll be in for a surprise. And it does last a lot longer than the natural oils (on paper strip), so It may be a good solution to extend the natural oils a bit longer.

A local restaurant has Yuzu bars (like Lemon bars) for desert. They are delicious.

I will now explore sniffing yuzu.

So my other Yuzu oil came in today, its from EarthYARD in Australia. They say its cold pressed from Japan, but let me tell you....this is HORRIBLE. It doesn't even smell like yuzu at all, and its so DIRTY smelling.... like absolute filth and dirt. Stay away from this place.....nasty oils!

looks like The cold pressed from liberty naturals is the only viable option right now to get something decent.
