SOTD is Diorella, selected randomly. It is definitely on my Top 10 All-Time Favorites list.

I wore Habit Rouge yesterday and it was a mind blowing experience! ❤️ Fabulous projection and it lasted from mid-morning well into the night.

I wonder if Hednic's SOTD is a comment on cannabis culture? I guess I need to look that one up.

Le Troisième Homme de Caron for me today. The comfort of lavender and clove, with enough lightly animalic musk to make you sit up and take notice.

Absolutely blown away by today's new arrival. This was a limited edition (150 bottles) produced to celebrate Harrods 150th anniversary in 1999 so I am incredibly privileged to now own one. Absolutely seamless composition with a peachy opening followed by a soft buttery tuberose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and a sandalwood / vetiver / vanilla base of the highest quality. Definitely in the same ballpark as Samsara or Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie but rather less voluptuous than either. Jenny has taken quite a shine to this one so It looks like I will be sharing it

Good morning, all.

Happy BNiversary, @Vernona 🥂

SOTD is LV Symphony … I’m not much of a citrus girl, but this is very nice one. The touch of ginger is very pleasant to my nose, and gives it a little bit of warmth on top of the freshness. I don’t find any of LV’s fragrances to be mind-blowing (and was very uninterested in them in general when I first started here on BN), but they are very nice and pleasant, and I’ve collected quite a few now.

I’m going to ramble about one of my favorite neighbors.

He is an older gentleman who has taken a liking to the boys and I. My husband and I think he’s adorable and endearing in a most brash, genuine way - my boys are slightly intimidated by his up-front demeanor.

When we first moved here, he was always stone-faced, and quite frankly seemed like he hated me. As many elder Asian men do, he would take long strolls with his hands clasped behind his back, to stare out at the water, and sometimes go fishing at the pier. He would escort his granddaughter to the bus stop. He always looked mad.

He is very unapologetic, which is one of the qualities that I love about him now. He likes to glare at people while spitting forcefully on the ground. He will walk right up to your car or to whatever has piqued his interest, look at or through everything, make an unsatisfactory noise, and leave (a lot of people have an issue with him inviting himself onto their properties). He lives with his son’s family down the next street over, with two little granddaughters. In general, he keeps to himself (besides his judgmental evaluations).

At first, I was shocked and put off by his behavior, but he’s grown on me. His personality is just so interesting. He doesn’t speak English, so we communicate with a lot of grunting, hand signals, and the such. He speaks to me in Chinese, and I answer back in Japanese, and we both have no idea what the other is saying. But he always lights up when he sees us, and hurries over to have one of our bizarre “conversations”.

He also likes to joyfully yell at my son and laugh, when he’s getting on or off the school bus 😅

Have a great day!
