I’m wearing an old Avon perfume this morning - Far Away Exotic. Not sure why or when I bought this one but it needs using up. Maybe it will take me away from this monotonous, rainy weather to warmer climes.

Picture-book spring weather here: 70F/20C and sunny, but chilly enough at night for good sleeping. Perfect for Day #6 of my spring break perfume rotation, which is Qi by Ormonde Jayne. Yet another scent I was introduced to by birthday girl @Ebenas and her eclectic taste.

This osmanthus scent is almost identical to Osmanthe Yunnan by Hermes, except that Qi has a lightly resinous base, where the Hermes has no real base at all, just the classic Ellena profile of a gossamer, linear veil. As a result, Qi has a bit more longevity, but they're both quite ephemeral, though Qi does come in an "intensivo" version that I haven't tried. Both overpriced, too, for what they are: simple tea scents with apricot and a touch of suede shouldn't cost $2.40-2.80/ml. Still, I'm glad to own a fat decant, since I've never met an osmanthus scent I didn't like, and it does go awfully well with spring.
