Blackcliff Mr. Pink.

What it is supposed to be - smoked vanilla amber with a yuzu top and buttery heart

The smoke note is Liquid Smoke.
There is also something that goes sour on my skin in the heart - likely the butter note since that's how my skin rolls with most butter/milk/cream accords.
At times - I get celery smoked sweetened leather. Interesting.
The base isn't bad - the burnt remains of a campfire made with fine woods with enough vanilla and musk to meld it into the skin. It's dry.

I've been struggling with something "metallic" going on with my nose and taste buds.
I can smell, but everything has this slight overlay of metal.
Probably a combination of medications + allergies. Meh.

Strangely, I think I prefer Mr. Pink now, wonky nose and all, vs. when I first smelled it a few months ago.

Happy Friday ya'll

Trilby - so happy to hear you picked up some great Hermes scents. I owned a travel sized bottle of the Rhubarb and I wore the hell out of it that summer, I (unlike you) needed to spray it 8-10 times to get it to stick. It didn't bother me - the rhubarb note is so 'natural' smelling I didn't mind. That Poivre Samarcande is so special, I know you'll enjoy it. I love, the tiny little whiff of leather, buried beneath the woods and pepper. If you blink, you'll miss it, but it sort of feels like I'm wearing expensive penny loafers and I catch a whiff of them as I'm walking around. It was, one of the very first Hermessences in the line up and even though it's loaded with synthetics it smells so darned good. Enjoy!

I went to Cross Fit today and yesterday - felt great. I did not go and do a normal workout, I basically did half the work and just took it easy. But it felt great to be sweating and in the sun and feeling my endorphins kick in. It will take me a while to get back in shape & I'm ok with that.

I wore this, because someone mentioned it on the Bortnikoff thread and I feel like I am ignoring my decant of it. It's a sleeper for sure - it has this quiet intensity to it. Plus it has a very realistic peach note. Sort of like Mitsouko-on-a-Middle-Eastern-vacation, if you can imagine that.

As the weather starts to warm up here, I won't be wearing this much - it's def a Fall fragrance. But I do need to explore some of the new Bortnikoff fragrances, I feel like I've missed a few.

Today's tiger. You'll notice that she doesn't look undernourished. I must have seen a thousand spotted deer, and because there are villages in the protected zones there are domestic cattle as well. The government of India decided a while ago to reimburse farmers for their loss if a tiger killed a cow. So the tigers never go hungry. Cub mortality is high at about 70% over the first 15 months. The tigers in the preserve are named (well, given a numerical designation most times) only after they survive past the age of two.

kosui, I hope you are feeling better today.
