Hello people, I need some expert advice from perfumers.

I have recently procured some good quality Perfume oils (Already blended). I want to make a perfume out of those oils. Can someone please guide me. Which alcohol is best to use, what fixatives should I use to make it longer lasting and project more etc.

Thanks a ton in advance.

You should address this question to the experienced perfumers in the Fragrance DIY Forum. Good Luck!

I think this question has been answered many many times already.
There's nothing you can add that's going to make it last longer or project better that isn't going to alter what you have.

The oil you have is already composed. What makes something last long or project well is based on the sum and synergy of the materials carefully selected to create the particular fragrance. So besides reformulating and altering everything in the blend, trying to add just one or two materials is most likely going to ruin your already composed compound.

As far as diluting your oil to make a spray, you want to use 200 proof SDA-40b (denatured) Alcohol (ethanol) , if you're in the US , creating perfumes . com has it available.

That's not how it works. Sorry.

You bought premade, finished products. If you aren't happy with the tenacity or projection, the only solution is to go back to the drawing board and reformulate...except someone else formulated it for you, so you're out of luck. They simply are what they are.

For future reference: anything sold as a "fragrance oil" is either not intended for perfumery to begin with (in which case it'll make bad perfume), or it's an "inspired by" cheap ripoff clone (in which case it almost always turns out to be...a cheap ripoff).

If you permit me, I could say that you will get this longer lasting and project more, after two years of the mix of your fragrance oil (20 grams) plus perfumist alcohol (80 grams). This is an expensive hobby and requires a lot of patience.
That's if your chosen fragrance has these characteristics of longer lasting and projection!!! Believe me!!

no no no.. very simple

1 part fragrance oil
5 parts amber xtreme
5 parts veramoss
2 parts trans-4-decenal
2parts rosyrane super
2 parts dimethyl sulfide
2 parts ambrocenide neat
82 parts alcohol denat

this will most likely be radiant and long lasting

I'm sorry for that bad joke, yes what is said above is right unfortunately

Actually it depends (kind of), but the answer would be specific to the fragrance oil you have, if you don't mind sharing what it is. Also you should not expect miraculous results, but certain improvements might be made.

In fact, what I wanted to say is that an essence, whether commercial or signature of any perfumer, is formed by many extremely volatile products in its almost totality.
Truly able to solubilize materials that are so difficult to solubilize takes a long time. In addition to solubilizing, the goal is also to extract fragrance from this mixture, which makes it even more difficult!!!
But... that are scents!!! So live long enough to taste each of your own blends, that's the watchword for us perfumers!!!

I ask something about it. I even wrote my formula. But, no clear answer. So I’m sure you can learn a lot about fixatives, long lasting, projection, and strength in this website: https://www.pharmatutor.org/content...last-longer-while-others-will-just-fade-away# … best of luck my friend!
