It seems to work for this old bodied immature brained 52 year old! I don't actually smell HM as youthful, and it's a 20th century fragrance approaching the quarter century mark so even those that were youthful then are not so much now!
Thank you for your response and encouragement ScentSensei. I very much appreciate it. Come to think of it, years ago--when I was about 55, I remember asking the the lady at the fragrance counter at Macy's for something for mature men, but not so common / popular. You jogged my memory just now. She suggested HM. Live and learn. Will be looking for another bottle soon! ;)

It's been awhile since I tried the HM, my memory is that is was kind of lower key version of A*MEN. Not as loud or intense.

Should be fine as long as you don't overwear it.

Though it's more coffee than chocolate, Kilian Intoxicated has a chocolate vibe in my view. It's not as sweet as you would think, considering the notes, but is a relatively "dry" gourmand, like cocoa powder.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Amour de Cacao is the most chocolate-type scent I've come across. The Directory lists it as unisex, though I think it a tad too feminine for me to wear.

My wife wore it to work one day, and related how for the entire day staff and students at the University she was at kept sniffing the air in the corridors wondering where that chocolate smell was coming from. It's a pretty potent scent.

I can't say I ever detected much chocolate in Hanae Mori for Men
Cheers,
Renato

Not best, but if you want a cheap fragrance for a shot of chocolate before bed or after a shower try Yacht Man - Chocolate. Surprisingly not bad for $5-6 but doesn't last but an hour maybe two. A bit like dousing a hot chocolate packet on your arm....

As ken_russell said Endymion, it has a cocoa/mocha thing mixed with a coffee note. Valentino Uomo also has a chocolate note, mixed with a similar but much smaller coffee note.

Closest to best that I own and with chocolate more prominent are two by Olympic Orchids. California Chocolate - a great dark chocolate with fruit/booze/vanilla notes that sounds very gourmand but leans more dark than sweet, but very rich. Seattle Chocolate - dark chocolate again but mixed with a variety of greenish plant/tree and wood notes, touch of oakmoss and vanilla. Sounds strange but very nice.....
