Hi all,

Well how fitting that today (6/2/23) the luck of the Irish was with me on this Friday for my Basenotes TWENTY year Anniversary!

I found the following (completely wrapped in Plastic) NOS 50ml bottle of (I'm told) old formula Lanvin ARPEGE.

In addition, I also found a NOS bottle of BOUCHERON EdT. I paid twenty dollars for both bottles! Whoa!

I didn't post here but fairly recently picked up another presumably vintage Floris - seringa - that has the same bottle but is listed as feminine. The bottle curves in and out more than it shows in the picture, quite an interesting bottle. But on the downside it's got a screw off sprayer cap, which increases the odds of fraud when buying. One other comment, I didn't get the box, and nowhere on the bottle does it say what size it is. I would guess 1.7 or 2 oz but not sure....

I've seen it described as a leathery chypre in the same vein as Cabochard and Aramis. There's very little that I've found about it other than that. My searches have mainly led to Galantom II which was released ten years ago and seems to still be available.

My first Avon !!! Cheap blind buy (10€). One spray on my arm and I am rather disappointed : I was expecting something like Brut as I have read in several reviews but I don't get Brut. Very musky. Not my style. I will need a full wearing to get a better appreciation ; no rush to do it ... ;)

Tai Winds is by no means my favorite Avon, nor Brut my fave Fabergé, but they’re nothing alike to my nose apart from pungency.

Barcode, no green dot. A little calmer than current, which is all fizzy gin and tonic and squeals rather high-pitched in comparison. It certainly has got a different timbre. Same, same but different. The vintage might not win by much, but still does, because besides the sonority, it has a broader register to boot.

Edit: After an hour and a half, the above gets very evident. The vintage projects a luminous yellow-green and almost feels as it's getting stronger, while the current has all but faded into the complete nonentity of a very weak skin scent.
Edit 2: the adress on the box says "14, rue Royale", which apparently was the house's adress until 1991.
