2 more presentation sets of my all time fav drugstore scent Tabac. Got several sets now, as just bottles on their own, all different boxdesigns and combos, soap, shaving cream and more...these both are pre bar code, they are in line with the otherbottles i have, estimated from 1960s to 1980s. Altough even this getting stupid expensive at some places, theres still chance to score cheap, very cheap sometimes. I guess this was just everywhere for decades so still enough in atticks and basements to be discovered.

What do you think of it? Haven't tried Modern Reserve
I’ve worn it for years, this is my 2nd bottle. Some have compared it to Crest, but I don’t get that vibe as Crest is more floral.

It is still Polo Green with the pine a bit brighter and the Leather behaving more like suede. The tobacco in the base is quieter as well. If you enjoy Polo Green, this one is a must have.

Avon - Black Suede. Aftershave 100ml.

Likely mid/late 90's 'Belt Buckle' version. Nothing innovative here a 'woody oriental' pushing gourmand. Smooth, well blended slightly spicy with a mellifluous ambery vanilla drydown. This is a comfortable fragrance, like an old cardigan or pair of slippers, comfy, cosseting and easy to wear.

Big thanks to @Varanis Ridari for his help and advice on which version to get and general encyclopaedic knowledge of Avon fragrances.

Blind buy because those were cheap

Another one I am not familiar with. Which house does this one come from?

The house seems to be El Charro, scent launched in 1989. I don't know anything else about it; maybe @PStoller could give us some more info ?
Where do you find these? In flea markets or in small out of the way fragrance shops? I'm very impressed. :)

There a site in Europe named Vinted, where you can sell and buy many used things: clothes, books, shoes, and...perfumes ! 90% of my purchases are made on this site :) And I'm interested in discovering pretty unknown scents, because most of the time, they are very cheap, so gambling is fun !

Jaguar - Jaguar Mark II. Aftershave Lotion. 75ml, 2.5 Floz.

Complete blind buy. I knew absolutely nothing about this fragrance apart from the few reviews on here and the note pyramid. I seemed to have a vague recollection of having read a few comments about it, but that's all. Given I didn't pay much more than the sticker price on the box I thought it worth the risk. Glad I did this is a terrific fragrance, incredibly potent as well. The Aftershave is so strong the Eau de Toilette must be nuclear!

Launched in 1998, this one has the short ingredients list so I'm guessing somewhere between 1998-2003, so an early one.

I've never kept it secret :) I like the idea of sharing, be it recipes, music, or places to buy perfumes !
I was just kidding!

I think I looked on there once (the UK version) and didn't see much and dismissed it. Perhaps the French one is better, given it's the bithplace of most fragrances?

Have I got to do everything around here? <sigh>

Yep, El Charro was the original house as well as the product name, an Italian brand inspired by “spaghetti westerns.” El Charro was acquired in 2008 by Capone Prestige. They still have a range of fragrances.

I don't have either of those two so have no point of reference. Although I do vaguely remember Givenchy Gentleman but rather pushed it to one side in favour of Monsieur de Givenchy which I really liked. I think Givenchy Gentleman was a little too 'grown up' for me back then when I was a youngster.

I've been racking my brains trying to think of what the Jaguar reminds me of and I think I finally have it - Ungaro Pour L'Homme II. It's the patchouli, amber, sandalwood and coumarin (Tonka Bean). They're not the same but there's definitely a similarity.
