A shekel for your thoughts?

Tenaz is an old-school musky-woody amber: that is, a non-laundry musk, cedar and sandalwood, and benzoic rather than vanillic amber. I’m not getting any of the supposed tobacco in the base, but the magnolia is present in the heart for quite some time before fading along with the benzoin.

It's certainly good, but the one or two hardcore enthusiasts on BN oversold it a bit. On the other hand, at current eBay prices—as opposed to the unicorn prices asked for it a while back—a good deal.

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea - modern formulation.

The green tea perfumery equivalent of an Arnold Palmer - half lemonade , half green tea
Missing the laundry/shampoo musks that typically appear in these types of scents.
Thank goodness.

Yeah, sorry about the spoiler. I couldn’t imagine you hadn’t seen it.
Scanners! A classic and one that even via just the television commercials at the time haunted my dreams. Michael Ironside was/is the central casting bad guy of 70s and 80s cinema. Thanks for the memories and now I've got to figure out where to stream this Cronenberg classic which because of the time it was released flashes me back to my Puch moped and being 14 years old, bass fishing and toodling around my then hometown of Hilton Head Island. (Holy run-on sentence!)

Eau de Roche (1970-76) by Edmond Roudnitska/Nicolas Mamounas for Marcel Rochas

Name changed in 1976 to "Eau de Rochas" due to a trademark dispute. My bottle looks like this:

If you ever get your mitts on this original Edmond Roudnitska formula (produced 1948-1956), please come talk about it here so I can at least enjoy it vicariously:

The new bottle of Antaeus I have been spraying quite a lot on and off. But tonight I have gone over to the 1983 bottle...Wow this is in a different place. It would be nice to find another bottle the same but that could be difficult. Especially at the right price...I don't like spending my money IMG_20230529_103628.jpg
