Getting mostly moss with a hint of peach and spices.
My current impression, after 90 minutes of wear - fairly linear, focused on the mossy parts and minimizing the fruit.
Unpopular opinion - I like this version better than the vintage peachier ones.
I got this as a used bottle off Mercari.
Someone(s) took great care storing it properly.
I'm glad to be its new caretaker.
Recent chatter in March's thread has motivated me to make this my #SOTD 🤎💛 (A wonderfully warm woody-patchouli-honey-spicy-mossy scent that brings back memories of high school in the late 70s and the bottle I wore then.)

I have a long history of trying to learn to love Shalimar and several other Guerlains, too: Jicky, Habit Rouge, L'Heure Bleu, Le Mouchoir de Monsieur, et al... the list is lengthy. My problem seems to be that I just don't care for that opulent, ambery Guerlinade base. I keep trying different formulations and concentrations of them, because I feel like a bad perfumista for not liking them. But so far, Mitsouko is the only one that has broken through to gain my affection.
I had hopes that maybe the cologne version of Shalimar might be the one that wins me over, but the fact is that I just don't much care for vanilla perfumes, either. I have the same problem with Habit Rouge. Which is strange, since I love culinary vanilla. But in perfume? Nope.
Still... gotta love a Basenoter who's this generous!

I most certainly can tell a difference! The older millesime bottles smell fuller and richer - they have more naturally sparkling citrus up top and the sandalwood base smells more satisfying to me. The newer stuff isn’t bad - it just isn’t the same and isn’t quite as good - it sort of smells like a clone of itself - close but not the same IMHO.
