Vintage fragrance I bought today

That time of the year folks.
But first wishing you all a Happy New Year. Hope this year is way better than the last.

2020 was a year where I slowed down my purchases. The good news is PStoller picked up the slack and Ali AD helped out towards the end. So we did fine this year

I did get something good recently. It was a gift from a good friend and a star basenoter. Smells better than Pino IMO. Has a sweetness that Pino lacks.

Ah, yes -- another year, another 365 bottles for PStoller. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that Hednic isn't interested in buying up vintage bottles.

I'm trying to think of the best vintage acquisition I had in 2020. It might have been one that cost me absolutely nothing: a bottle of La Nuit parfum by Paco Rabanne, which was a gift from an amazingly generous Basenoter.

Bogner’s Deep Forest has passively been on my purchase list for years. Every time I think about it I seemed to get side tracked by something else. I need to move it to my active purchase list. All of these lists are mental BTW, which is part of the issue.


As I think back through 2020, I’m not 1,000,000% sure what my best vintage purchase is as it was a slow year for me as well. However, right at the end of the year I picked up (from another great BNr. God, I love this community!) vintage Millesime Imperial and Green Irish Tweed. If that wasn’t my best acquisitions, then I don’t know what is and they’d only be perhaps 2nd best.

Here’s to 2021 being profoundly better than 2020, in every possible way!!!!

Ah, yes -- another year, another 365 bottles for PStoller. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that Hednic isn't interested in buying up vintage bottles.

LOVE this one. I smelled it when I visited Zurich, Switzerland and it took many years of trial and error to figure out what I smelled.

That's only because he bought them all when they were new. But I did buy a bottle of Jean-Jacques Vivier Signature today in his honor. And, like Diddy, I almost bought Bogner Deep Forest before I got sidetracked. Ah, well: there's always tomorrow.

Well you do need 365 fragrances for 2021.
Start with Bogner. Good one.
As for Jean-Jacqurs Vivier, I have a mini and is OK.
I find my tastes a bit orthogonal to Hednic's.

I don't suppose there's any way to enforce a rule about eliminating mass photos from quoted posts, is there?

Someone posts a series of photos of 4 or 5 or 8 new bottles they bought, and then someone else quotes and reposts all the photos just to say "Congratulations!" and then someone else quotes and reposts them just to say "Nice choices!" and so on and so on... until pretty soon I'm spending a quarter of my day scrolling through repeated photographs.

Just sayin'.....

Also, I'd like to quote from Bavard's kickoff post for the new VSOTD thread, and hope it can apply here as well:

By all means, delete photos in quotes that aren’t necessary for contextual clarity. And I love the multi quote tool, although it can be hard to work with on a cell phone and across multiple pages.
