It's back and I don't know for how long. I guess if you're a vetiver fanatic you should order a sample. I think the aftershave splash from the final batch last time when it was discontinued was an amazing batch. Grassy, slightly smokey, deep, rich, very masculine. I love the stuff and am afraid to use it after this was discontinued. Now it's back and I have a bottle en-route to me now. A member of the Facebook group got his bottle before me and he's saying the scent matches my description when asking, ie, deep, slightly smokey. And I've been emailing, chatting and putting in messages on Facebook bugging PAA to bring this back for a run. So, I figured there are vetiver fanatics on this forum. I figured you all would want to try this one out. I am not big on vetiver, but this one is my favorite vetiver scent I ever tried. There is real vetiver roots in the aftershave bottle.

Picture sent to me from the Facebook friend of his bottle he just got:

Sounds like a vetiver lover's dream.
It's definitely grassy and root-like. Still waiting on the latest bottle and curious what this batch smells like. Since this is hand crafted I have noticed differences in past batches. Each one has a character to it.

Hmm,

I got the most recent release of Vetiver Planet aftershave/cologne. It's not quite as earthy and smokey as the final discontinued batch I got last time. This one is a bit smoother and only a bit lighter (this still has plenty of depth). There is still a touch of smokiness but it's definitely a different character as the bottle I prize the highest. This one is still very good and I have to test it on my skin. As always, the source of the components might vary depending on availability. So, this one is yet again its own kind of vetiver as I assumed it would be. The newest release batch has a little bit of a nutty tone. The whole point of this vetiver seems to be to deliver the raw, the earthy and rooty elements within vetiver. I think because these are handmade batches, the variance will be important to note. I like this new batch and I think it will grow on me. I wonder what the dry down will reveal.

Also, one more thing, because there is real vetiver grass macerating in the bottle, over time the scent will get more intense and get more tanins and core compounds from within the plant. My previously bought bottle is more potent than it was a year ago, so, these may improve with age on the shelf.

**Edit - The more I smell from the bottle that just arrived the more I like the scent. Even though this scent is just vetiver, there is depth and complexity in this. Can't wait to not only test this on skin but also want to know what it develops into over time while macerating on the shelf.

My bottle arrived in the mail yesterday. It was a blind buy. Holy vetiver, Batman! Several of PAA’s aftershave/colognes I use as both an aftershave and cologne, but Vetiver Planet will strictly be used as the latter for me. I get Guerlain Vetiver vibes (if one were to strip it of the citrus and tobacco). Vetiver fans, take note!
