Turkish delight accord?

Hi,

I’m new here and have searched and can’t find anything (please forgive me if I’m looking in the wrong place)!

I’m trying to create a soft, sweet, powdery rose Turkish delight accord and looking for some advice/ input.

At the moment, I’m using rose otto, ethyl vanillin, orris, iso e super, a nutty praline note, hedione, lemon oil and ambergris in various combinations to try and create this but something is lacking.

Anyone any thoughts or can point me in the right direction?

Thank you 😊

I haven’t made this particular accord so this is just speculation. Materials that might be useful are raspberry ketone, ethyl maltol, fructone or/and fructalate. Pell Wall’s rose base is almost there for the rose note but I can’t say how that compares to your otto.

Edit : I actually have some to consume over the festive season so I'll take a good sniff before I stuff my face, taking notes of what jumps out at me. I reckon some musks are going to be important but I'd like to get a feel for the thing before recommending.

Thank you for this! Great suggestions to try!
Also love Turkish delight to eat too! Maybe I’ll have to eat some more in the name of experimentation! 😂👌

Heh

Yes, a tough job. I had a quick smell last night and on top of the obvious rose and sugary aspects, there was a powdery quality that was quite appealing and made up a lot of the aroma. I don't think it was the icing sugar either, though I tried to avoid snorting the stuff so didn't really stick my nose in there.

The taste test should reveal the nuances more accurately than smelling. I'll report back once consumed.

I read that Rose Givco 217 has a Turkish delight aspect

I have Rose Givco 217, Rose Wardia and Pell Wall's Rose Blend and from isolated aroma alone I would reach for PW's Rose Blend for this particular accord. The other two are both very nice products and to me more realistic than the PW offering (though that obviously depends on what rose one is comparing). Rose Wardia is sharper than Givco and both are sharper than Rose Blend. Without having a slab of the confection to hand when I first smelled Rose Blend, my immediate thought was "That smells like Turkish Delight...".

I'm sure any of those products as well as rose otto would do the job.
