Hi to Everyone,
A couple of years back, I tested Tommy Bahama Maritime, and it really grabbed me. My wife bought it for my birthday, and I've always enjoyed this oceanic scent.
Late last year, I came across Maritime Deep Blue on a clearance sale, so blind bought a bottle. I wore it and really couldn't smell anything much - it seemed like a bit of a dud to me.
Before I bought it, my nephew had been asking me if he should wear scents to work (he's a licensed plumber in a production facility), and I had said "Why not?" - but he hadn't gotten around to doing it. So, when Christmas came around, I gave him a bottle of Boss Bottled EDP, and also threw in my dud bottle of Maritime Deep Blue, saying "Take it to work - it won't bother anybody". Which he subsequently did.
Later my nephew came back to me that Maritime Deep Blue was a hit, as nearly everyone at is work was telling him how good he smelled. One of his fellow co-workers was so impressed that he went out and bought a bottle of Maritime Deep Blue as well, and was also wearing it at work. As such, my nephew then went and bought a backup bottle of Maritime Deep Blue. And it had been pretty good at parties too.
As luck would have it, a few weeks back I wandered by a Chemist store which was selling testers, including Maritime, Maritime Journey and Hollister Wave 2 for A$10 (US$6.70) each, and I bought them. I gave the Maritime to my nephew today, and the Hollister Wave 2 to my other nephew (since it smelled pretty much like Maritime Journey to my nose).
My nephew just got back to me saying that Maritime is good, but is very similar to Maritime Deep Blue.
My question for those who have smelled both Maritime and Maritime Deep Blue is, do they,
a. Smell similar to your nose, (like my nephew's perception) or
b. Do they not smell similar (like my perception)?
I'm curious about whether there is something wrong with my nose.
Regards,
Renato
