I read that 2 liters (2000ml) or 68 fluid ounces of perfume are allowed (per person) by the FAA in checked luggage if properly sealed and stored in seal-able plastic bags. Considering that many niche perfumes are 30ml (1.0 fluid oz) or 50ml (1.7 fluid oz) or 100ml (3.4 fluid oz), this means that up to 67 bottles of 30 ml (1 fluid oz) perfumes can be taken in luggage if properly packed. I am moving overseas so I would like to take as many perfumes as possible from my collection. Has anyone ever tried taking more than 20 bottles of perfume on a domestic or international flight? If so, any problems? Bags opened for inspection without you present?
