Taking perfumes in checked baggage?

I read that 2 liters (2000ml) or 68 fluid ounces of perfume are allowed (per person) by the FAA in checked luggage if properly sealed and stored in seal-able plastic bags. Considering that many niche perfumes are 30ml (1.0 fluid oz) or 50ml (1.7 fluid oz) or 100ml (3.4 fluid oz), this means that up to 67 bottles of 30 ml (1 fluid oz) perfumes can be taken in luggage if properly packed. I am moving overseas so I would like to take as many perfumes as possible from my collection. Has anyone ever tried taking more than 20 bottles of perfume on a domestic or international flight? If so, any problems? Bags opened for inspection without you present?

I don’t think domestic USA is a problem checking a bag with a bunch of perfumes. But they could take them. International is probably much more limiting.

Be very careful. Best tactic: a series of smaller shipments, not packages you’ll have to transport through airports yourself. Best not to risk valuable fragrances in large shipments.
Sound advice!

Wasn't trying to take many bottles of fragrance but have randomly had bags checked. Unless the dogs are set off by your fragrance when you walk in, you check your bag in, it goes away, and all security checks are done after that - so no chance you are present for it. Often they stick a plastic marker on the bag stating it was searched, presumably to explain why it's a mess when yo open it. Agree with others, there is some risk that if your bag was pulled someone might decide to borrow some of your properly.

DHL will ship fragrances overseas and were crazy fast, just 2 or 3 days. It won't be cheap, but compared to high end designer/cheap niche it might only be a couple or more bottles which seems a very good trade off compared to possibly losing many more.....
