Hello, Could anyone with experience please recommend what they consider to be the best of his currently available rose-based fragrances? With descriptions, if able. Thx!

I find ensar rose and l'ephemere as projecting rose the best.

If you like rose Oud, Juriah is quite nice and refined. If you like it a little more hardcore with animalics, Cheval D’Arabie is very intense and my current favorite from SPA

Thanks, man! I ended up ordering Juriah from him a few days ago, concerned that the animalics you mention might be too much for my "nice and refined" self. :) I trust I won't be disappointed. I certainly read and took your previous comments to heart, and will weigh in on Cd'A once his sample set arrives, but I'm very grateful for this and your earlier posts.

Love your P_M moniker, too!

Many thanks, Sugandha! Ensar Rose and L'Éphémère have been getting glowing notices wherever I look, and SP himself urged me to try the latter. Went with Juriah as a first foray into Rose and Oud and can't wait for that to get here (10 days or so, he said).

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Juriah was one of my favorites as well. If I didn't already own an attar with a similar profile, I would've bought it. I don't find it to be overly animalic, but as always YMMV.

+1. I don't find it too animalic either. Ymmv.
Just curious, which one is the attar that you own that's similar in profile?

Very welcome Mr M! Let us know what you think!

I’m looking forward to everyone’s reviews on the new Chypres

I find my Attars de Montreal from Royal Bengal Ouds to share enough to hold back on the Juriah. Helps that the RBO offering is also spectacular, imo.

Both the chypres are stunning compositions. I tend to like mystique more. Classic Chypre.

Thanks for letting me know. Wanted to try that ever since I heard of it. Not on the Etsy store anymore.

Tried CC and it's not to my taste unfortunately, confirming why I don't vibe with chypres. To my nose, it smells eerily like washing up liquid and really tickles my nose the wrong way.I think it maybe one of those scents that smell better in the air/or someone else rather than close up.

Will try CN properly in the next few days, but I don't have high hopes for it!

+1 For the lovers of FNoire. I am wearing this in the humid, hot weather of the Mediterranean where it has really found its footing. The citrus, pine and geranium opening really helps this one cut through the heat incredibly well, with great projection and longevity to keep you satisfied throughout the day. There is this great juxtaposition between the early 'fresher' notes which transition seamlessly into a warmer, spicier dry-drown that compliments the cool night air wonderfully.
A very underrated attar IMO and full bottle worthy for any fans of this genre.

Surprise, surprise! I'm actually enjoying Chypre Narcisse a lot more than CC.The opening is similar to FN (not as green though) with a lot more animalics lurking in the background.
Gnna need to spend more time with this but so far so good. The civet is strong in this one!
