Hello to everyone,
I hope you are all doing well and staying well and In good health,

This is sort of limited to certain materials and it’s counterpart bases and accords, but for those said ones, which is a more appropriate to use? I feel single material is better, less chemical interactions
but, sometimes, it’s hard to get, or expensive or even banned, so an accord or a special base takes its place!
But there’s another challenge, iv seen many accords and bases of same scent with different formulas from fragrance houses or perfumers! Another flag raised! Which is which! And why?
I am unbiased, so I tend to bring the same base and accord done by multiple sources! But, if Im to choose, and it’s available, I will always go for single material!

Some bases, are worth to have, regardless of Any other availability, for example, Ive been working with 2 Firmenich floral bases and 4 of fraters ones, they are so refined and beautiful and stable, I found Im able to add 2 to 3 materials to it only and I have a complete beautiful and ready to use fragrance! Simple one! (I made many gifts already, and they all love it)

But, I consider those materials as mini perfumes rather than bases!

what’s your thoughts here and experiences in work! Which one you prefer and why?

Cheers : )

On the subject of accords, would anyone be able to recommend a good sweet date (the fruit) accord? The one I’m speaking of is the majdool dark brown matured sweet date and not the yellow ripe one of the tree!
I have an interesting idea i want to try! It was based on something I tried as a sweet delight!
is there a ready base as well for that said material? or a natural?

Date accord could be Datilat, Davana, Maltol, delta tetradecalactone, delta undecalactone, ethyl benzoate, and maybe some dihydro-beta-ionone.

Natural date absolute exists as well, thanks to Abby at Wild Veil :
The price tag is totally worth it.
As you can see, Deglet Noor and Halawi but no Medjool specifically.
I'm working on a medjool tincture myself, and it's advancing veeeeeeeeeeeeeery slowly as the smell is so faint. But it's the real smell of these dates, and I'm confident that after enough recharges there will be enough stuff infused to make a bit of absolute.

I’m not familiar with this supplier,
additionally, I dont understand the listed materials. Are they home made? Or what exactly, it’s not specifying! Who makes those materials and how?

Yes they are home made by the perfumer who runs this website. She has a huge forest-garden and is very into making all-natural perfumes with mostly her own materials, including EOs and enfleurage absolutes and tinctures. The site is mostly for selling her perfumes, but this page is for the small selection of materials she sells.

The "Absolutes & Resinoids" are the result of long-term tinctures that are then reduced to a paste or solid - a bit like the stuff I was talking about with you in another thread about tinctures. So they are not the same absolutes as the solvent-extracted ones we often find online, they are home-made and include no solvents in the process other than alcohol.

That’s nice, and a good way to make some naturals!
I’ll have a further look and thought about it.. never hurts to do so,
Thank you 🙏
