Rochas Femme Parfum Atomizer PSA

I just received one of the refillable Rochas Femme Parfum atomizers, and it was a disaster. Initially I was very happy to get 30ml of very old Rochas Femme parfum for 99 dollars, but I very quickly regretted the whole thing. When I first got it out of the box, it wouldn't spray. I was fine with that, I could always decant it. To get the bottle out of the case you need to first pop off the atomizer. As soon as I did that, propellant and perfume started shooting everywhere. I had no idea it was a propellant spray. There was obviously still pressure, so I don't know why it wouldn't spray. Anyway, it was a nightmare. The picture in this thread is what I'm talking about and what you shouldn't buy.

"Atomizer" nearly always mean that there is a propellant gas inside. I had the same problem with another Rochas perfume, Monsieur Rochas, but once the propellant escaped, I was able to get the juice and decant it.

I decided long ago that vintage atomiseurs are not for me. They can be good…or very bad…and usually there’s no way to tell if one of them is going to be a dud. To add even more insult to injury, vintage atomiseurs for parfum were often beautifully designed and packaged, like yours.

Ah well.
