Hello Everyone,

I am a huge fan Arabian Oud Perfumes. Especially, their oil perfumes.
So I have been looking to the ingredients of some of the oils I love: For instance, Nagham.

Like Nagham and many others oils bend: Arabian Oud uses Pineapple Blossoms.

I did some reseach to see if Pineapple Blossoms existed as a natural essiantial oil and after that, if Pineapple did have an actual blossom or if its was just a misnomer.

I did not find any reliable ressources that was selling this essantial oils.

So I got a bewildered as I thought Arabian Oud was using only natural essantial oil for its perfumes. (Maybe not true ? )

I would really aprreciate if someone could share information or personal experiences about Pineapple natural essantial oil. (If it does exist...)

Thank you in advance.

It's likely a fantasy accord, many things in nature that produce scent cannot be distilled into oil or made into an absolute so they are made into approximations called accords or fragrance oils.

I've never smelled a Pineapple flower to have any opinions or thoughts, but certainly, I also have never heard about some natural flower extraction. But as said, I sincerely doubt that one has existed, and it is likely a fantasy accord. If it really matters to you, you could spend some time doing research online to see if there have been any headspace volatiles GCMS studies made that you can find, to help you reconstruct what the flower would actually smell like. Yes, of course, Pineapple plants do flower, because the flower turns into the fruit, just like all other plants that are fruit bearing.

Robertet makes a natural pineapple fruit base, it is an assembled product, rather than a simple extractive product. I had such high hopes for it, but was supremely underwhelmed. And that was when I decided to make my own Pineapple base.

Yes, but I was more curious about pineapple blossom ... I know that accords can be made for imitate pineapple's smell ... but what about Pineapple blossom ?

I would be super interesting to know what is the difference between pineapple and pineapple blossom ?

- by the way, pkiler, how did your Pineapple base turned out ?

Arabian Oud using naturals exclusively? Not a chance. They may use real oud here and there, but they use synthetics just like most Western fragrance houses. Don't let their marketing fool you!
