Parfum Prissana discussion thread

Prin is a a house and perfumer I am just starting to discover. Onthamara is my first full bottle and I really like it. I am still considering getting the other two. Where can I get any of the old Pryn line?

Many of his old house are re-release or some formula adjusted.

- Homa is the new Aksum (which he liked more than the original, quote from Prin himself. But I prefer Aksum than Homa)
- Turkish leather -> Anatolia
- Morah -> Mandodari
- Aranyaka -> Aran (and sadly discontinued)
- Ayothaya -> Planning of re-release after some formula adjusting

I own and love Homa but have wanted to pick up Aksum based upon the asphalt note and the overall stronger reception it seems to have in the community. What do you like more about Aksum? And do you think it’d be redundant to purchase both?

Both are great, For me Aksum has stronger animalic vibe with raw ash-y asphalt which challenging but quite addictive.
Homa is more airy due to kaffir lime and less ash-y incensy feeling, less dark and dense compare to Aksum.

However, these two are very close so I prefer to hold a trigger on Homa and enjoy my Aksum.

Wearing Mandodari today and it performs so well in the heat and humidity, it’s climbing my favorites list. The warm weather smooths out the aldehyde explosion opening and really makes the champaca sing.

I've received all of the Strangers Parfumerie and Parfum Prissana fragrances plus a few that haven't been available in the US:
Caffeine Honey and Summer Peaches

Plus the resurrected Nimitr.

Also, for the brave I have samples of Sombre. It's actually not as bad as the ingredients sound!

i have a sample from Bloom and I’ve been desperately trying to work up the courage to spray it on skin lol

Off a strip the champagne-vomit is the most prominent note which is just truly the worst. It’s so well done it gave me New-years-day hangover flashbacks 😵‍💫

OK, I applied... Not bad, I'm serious, it's not that bad and in fact it's kind of good! I even applied more just in case.

The Jasmin and rose are most prominent then the orris butter, it's more floral than I had anticipated. I do not smell vomit or pus! I was expecting a repulsive novelty fragrance.

Man, I hope this isn't a reflection of my fragrance olfactory abilities

The Mrs. is long gone, kicked her out 10 years ago!

I won't be wearing this in public, not because it smells horrid but because the flower notes are too much for me.

I was expecting it to be so much worse, maybe it's horrible but with such low expectations it didn't take much to be OK. Another wear in a week or two will be the real experience I think.

I can’t even decide between Rahassanai and Onthamara. They’re both so damn good that I got a backup of both. They’re both on par with the best fragrances in my collection.

I liked these until Aranyaka came into my life. Now they feel kind of chaotic and bland in comparison. Aranyaka is just so good it raised the bar for what I think is Prin’s best work. I tried wearing Onthamara the other day and it felt lifeless. But then again I think Aranyaka might be my favorite fragrance in my collection at the moment.

My ranking is probably the opposite: Oqachol - Onthamara - Rahassanai. All three are fantastic In truth. It’s taking a lot of self discipline not to order a bottle of Onthamara to add to my Oqachol. Need to keep money for summer holidays!
