P.R. 1 Million (the original), is it still that popular?

Yesterday evening a friend of mine was wearing Sauvage and the first thing I've said was, "man, who dosued himself with Sauvage"? The friend replied "me" (there were more of us hanging out). My next "retort" (I wasn't angry or actually brash) was, "this is being worn by kids 15 and grandpas 60+ for the last 8 years since this was out, you feel this in the streets all the time".

Some 10 - 15 years ago, half of the city was smelling like P.R. 1 Million, but not so these days or so it seems, I guess...I hope.

Why am I asking? I got the original P.R. 1 Million as a gift which I'll receive when the person comes to my area sometime in october :D

So, is the original 1 Million still that popular aorund, be it Europe or the USA?

I really appreciate the Prive flanker that I already own and was also thinking about acquiring Lucky flanker, but this sudden gift came as a pleasant surprise to me.

Still quite popular here in the UK, I'm afraid. But yes, it's not actually that bad a composition, overpopularity and overapplication by some people have just ruined it for many of us, like a lot of modern fragrances out there.

This would be my so called "fear". You spray that thing and the reaction is "hey is that 1 Million?" :D Just like my reaction to my friend when I smelled Dior Sauvage reeking some couple meters off of him.

It's still on the "staff pick" shelf at the local Shopper's Drug Mart, so I'm going to say yes. They have, however, stopped insisting that I buy it, so that's some progress right there.

I'm thinking...with all the flankers, you know...maybe just maybe... :D

From a personal viewpoint alone and regarding strictly that part of Europe do currently live in, likely to admit in favor of a fairly strong (possible) yes.

I was recently shocked when my very well presented lawyer told
me that his signature fragrance was 1 Million 😁. He made the confession when he learned I had a massive collection.

Here in Melbourne the shelves at pharmacies are still solidly packed with 1 million, large stocks of the golden boxes are now a weird flex for pharmacies looking to solidify their perfume credentials 😄. Its actually the flankers that are out of favour.

Personally I do like 1 Million. Paco Rabanne clearly put a lot of effort into getting it right the first time, both in terms of composition and performance. The blood orange, the leather, the spice, the florals, work perfectly. Applied lightly, it can still work on a 30+ guy. But for Basenoters the aldehydic floral Cologne flanker is a hidden gen and thoroughly recommended.

Well, there's only one possible way for to find out if this sits well with me and on me. 1 Million Prive got me compliments on more than one occasion. :D

I bought it while on holiday .
I was surprised by the performance.
Excellent projection and longevity.
Everyone says how dilluted its become.
Not true.

I have 2 decants of 1 mill parfum and it's far too sweet for me

However my samples of Sauvage elixir are maybe sweeter still, but in a spicy way that I can't get enough of

Tbh I can't wrap my head around why 1 mill was or is anything more than 'well liked' but knowing it's popular confuses me lol

But I don't think I've ever smelled it in the wild, here in Boston I'm mostly smelling rouge 540 and various laundry scents like the new ysl myself

The OG 1 Million EDT is still on department store shelves in the US. I can't say anything about its sales, but the fact that it gets shelf space is a good sign. I still find it fun to wear and while some of the flankers are good, I still prefer the original.
