One Million reformulation

YouTube reviewer Lex Ellis mentions in his latest review on One Million that it has been reformulated with weaker performance and that the reformulated bottles have "Puig" on the bottom of the bottle. I bought this fragrance early on in my collecting after so many reviews citing it as a powerhouse and was disappointed to find that the longevity is fairly poor on me (4-6 hours). Sure enough, after seeing this review I checked my bottle and saw the "Puig, France" on the bottom. I haven't been able to find anything about a reformulation besides this review. Can anyone verify this?

This is going on with fragrances all across the board, you can thank the politicians in Europe who banned oakmoss in colognes and I think a few other things. Three people have an allergy to something and being PC as they are over there (3X worse than the US if you can imagine) they pass a law to ban it. You can really tell just about any batch of cologne made this year is way weaker than in previous years.

This is absolutely crazy. I wonder if a new designer powerhouse will ever be created!

Personally don't detect any difference with what I have, which is the original release and what's out there now. Just my experience.

It's extremely frustrating, with pretty much every designer being neutered into oblivion from a performance standpoint.

It doesn't surprise me, but I also would be cautious with a you tuber. It seems like a good topic to drive hits to your videos, as it is such a popular fragrance. I personally haven't watched a single YouTube video, they make money on how many views they receive. I stick to opinions of experts here, like hednic. My bottle was bought about 6 months ago, it does say Puig on the bottom, and it is pretty darn good in performance.

Whenever I wear mine, it's still on my skin when I wash it in the shower the next day. I haven't tested the longevity on the back of my hand to see just how long it lasts yet but it does last very long. I've smelt it leaving sillage for over 10 feet but I have read some peoples' reviews saying they only get a few hours and I really doubt that's just their skin, so it's probably a reformulated version. I'll have to check my bottle when I get home though because I only bought it earlier this year.

Out of curiosity, who told you that?
It's a fact- some famous Youtubers with millions of viewers make a living abd have a load of money spare just from Youtube. I don'tknow exactly how or at what point they start paying you and what the rate is based on but Youtubers definitely get paid a lot, although I doubt fragrance reviewers get a whole lot.

Checked my bottle and it does say Puig France on the bottom and it's still really strong and lasts forever so I doubt it's anything to show it's been reformulated.

Right, I'm not saying they make a lot but it's based on the advertising they sell for each page view, or customer interaction. So causing a stir by saying a very popular fragrance has been re formulated will lead to lots of views. I don't think they've done anything with it, it's all synthetics anyway why would they have to?

I have a 2011 bottle and it has "Puig fragrance" at the bottom of the bottle. That's like 3 years after release.

It's good to see that Europeans are protecting themselves against all the horrible things these fragrances can do to the body, possibly including interfering with all the health benefits of their pack-a-day smoking habits!

But if the information on the bottle is true, then this was reformulated before new regulation. Wouldn't be surprised if it'd been reformulated multiple times tho.

Wait...are you trying to say that smoking is bad for you?

You can´t be serious right? The video in question probably doesn't even have 1000 views. So that's not even a buck.

And 'opinions of experts' lol....get a grip.

Of course not, it's perfectly fine... just make sure you choose the right brand for the pregnant women in your life! Camel cigarettes are my doctor's recommendation!

(Seriously though, smoking is bad for you - don't do it! ... unless it's hookah, which is awesome!)

Well, I have a two bottles from 2012, one from 2014 and one from 2017.

The 2012 seems richer, more intense, more spicy. The strength is brutal and lasting.

The 2014 is still citrusy, still intense, but not as spicy. The strength is still brutal and lasting.

The 2017 is more citrusy, but not as intense, not as spicy which means one or more components have been weakened. The strength is not as brutal and lasting, but still ok. I have to spray about twice a day.

So, there you have it.

Sometime after 2016, IFRA started its crackdown in the EU, thus limiting ingredients.

I wouldn't doubt it, It's extremely uncommon for a fragrance house to really put effort towards maintaining their products smell/performance when reformulating.
Few fragrances will be worth purchasing in their 2nd,3rd,4th formulation and so on.

It's un-realistic to buy a fragrance that was released a few years ago, and expect it to smell and perform in a comparable manner to the original release.
If you want the real deal, then you need to find a vintage bottle, or buy a fragrance that was recently released and find a batch code from the first couple years of production.
