Have to say I quite like it. Opens up with an intense blast of lemon/citron zest and settles down to fresh, spicy, peppery woods with the citrus still lingering in the background. Similar structure as the original Terre using different notes. I like the fact it’s fresh without being sweet, because the combination of mineral and spicy notes and the citron result in a bitterness and, indeed, an ‘icy’ feel I really enjoy. This should be very nice, refreshing and classy in warmer weather.

Can’t really compare it to Eau Tres Fraiche because I don’t own it and I last tried it a long time ago, but from memory I’d say it’s a lot closer to the original Terre than it is to Tres Fraiche (or any of the other flankers).

This sounds very promising! I just picked up 30ml Eau Tres Fraiche with a 125ml refill bottle - never tried it before but enjoying it in HK Springtime. I guess that's lucky if it's going. That said, this new one sounds good and if it's closer to the original TdH then even better!

How does its drydown compare to the drydown of Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche?
On my way home I went past a store where they still had an Eau Très Fraiche tester on display, so I sampled it again to refresh my memory and to be able to compare it to Eau Givree.

I feel they are very different fragrances. Givree really has that zingy citrusy freshness and, like I said earlier, shares its structure with the original TDH, using different notes. Très Fraiche is a bitter citrus in typical Jean-Claude Ellena style, focusing on the scent of the peels instead of the zest. Trying it again after a while, the similarities it has to other JCE creations, like Cologne Bigarade and even Cartier Declaration, really strike me.

So far Très Fraiche lasts better on my skin. I still like Givree but I wish it had a firmer base.

Sounds promising so far, appreciate the first impressions. Any thoughts on the juniper note? Is it strong? Easily identifiable? Or more part of the larger woody/green accord?

Not surprised it's similar to the original. They haven't departed particularly far from the original with any of the flankers.

Got a decant on the way to me but I was super angry because of disconutinuation of Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche. Eventually I bought Nagel's first Terre - Terre d'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver and again - eventually I liked it. We'll see. Holding my breath untill I try this juice.

I was in a Sephora yesterday and the SA didn’t have an ETA yet for this one.

“Hopefully soon” she said. Whatever that means.

To me Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche stood out of most of orange/grapefruit (pamplemousse)/pomelo fragrances because of unmistakable melange of spices (cumin included). Only based on that you could tell it was done by Jean-Claude Ellena.

I got to sample and review this one recently (see directory).

Very different from Eau Trés Fraîche but also closer to the original Terre d'Hermès than ETF was.

This disposes of any aquatic, white floral, or salty elements and goes for juniper and pepper with something cool like menthol.

The nutty vetiver base of OG Terre d'Hermès is stronger here, although not the patchouli. I prefer Eau Trés Fraîche but I do really like this too.

Chanel Paris-Edimbourg and Diptyque Orpheon fans will like this, as it puts gin & tonic in a blender with Terre d'hermes.

So in your opinion does the base stay interesting? Does it stick around for a while? That was my main issue with EIV; the base became faint and flat after about 5 hours. H24 on the hand... that stuff lasts 10+ hours. My wife would comment I smelled good well into the evening after a full workday. Basically that is what I look for in a fragrance. I want it to last an entire workday so that I still smell good when I get home.
