got it on my skin now. this is a darker, rounder take on the original. goes straight into the heart notes which are pleasant & fruity. the opening is somewhat less impressive than the original but the scent improves in the drydown. the main problem is that the fizzy, musky citrus top was one of the best aspects of Elysium. it's like they took out the grapefruit and bumped up the middle notes (noticing the apple more here) with a few tweaks. performance is more akin to the Parfum Cologne than the Parfum (i guess the clue was in the price). going to spend more time with it but it's not going to replace the Parfum as one of my ultimate summer scents. though my appreication of this DNA may make it hard to resist, inevitably.

I feel like I'm having the inverse experience of the previous posters. I sprayed Elysium on one hand, and Eau Intense on the other.

Eau Intense: Citrusy, peppcorn, spritzy opening blast mellows out into a GIT-ish expression. It's light and airy.
Elysium : less citrus, with darker, more sombre notes.

There is nothing in the niche market that beats Percival and Layton, in my opinion.
The first being a superb freshie with stunning performance, the second is probably the best masculine gourmand in the world.
I paid an arm and a leg to smell Roja's Amber Aoud, and it was absolutely vile, disgusting, flat and unwearable.

Seems like we both are in the same lane. Percival to me was a surprise. It's a solid freshie that I can rely on to last a long time.

I think it was Redneck Perfumisto that nailed my "style" ages ago and he was right. I'm not quite into niche quite yet. It's a part of my journey. But I tend to like luxe designer trend. He wasn't wrong.

Percival is a refined A&F Fierce. Layton is toxic to some, lovely to me. Heck, I even liked Kalan, Sedley, and Greenley/Sutton.

Roja Amber Aoud was not my fave from that house. Enigma Pour Homme though, instant purchase for me.

so i'm walking around wearing this thing and all i can think is i smell like a pack of kids fruit candy. is this a good thing? why yes it is, though i think the ideal age bracket is on the much younger side. for example this would be very good for teenagers, not exactly Roja's target demographic. whereas the original is more of a typical citrus cologne this is borderline novelty with the way it presents its fruityness.

I like it, but would not buy a bottle. And that goes for the original, too -- they're just not competitive, pricewise, with everything else in its competition bracket.

Fragrancebuy have the original Elysium at $289.95 CAD right now. That's the cheapest that I've seen it in quite some time.

I recently got a 10ml of this with a purchase of Oceania and I'm not sure what to make of it. What I mostly get from the get go is rhubarb, similar to the rhubarb you get when you smell a rhubarb and custard sweet (for those in the UK). Whilst others complain about the performance of the original Elysium Parfum Colgne, I always got great performance from that. This though, once the rhubarb goes I can't seem to smell much at all. Maybe a faint whiff of the original DNA in the base but thats it. So far I find it fairly under whelming. I do tend to feel this way about most of Roja's offerings and eventually they turn into loves so will see how this one goes with more wearings through the summer. Love the new style 10ml bottles though! IMG_0891.jpg
