Christine Nagel goes into her sixith year as Hermès in-house perfumer, and just recently released world wide the new Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree. I've heard rumors that a new basil focused cologne will be released sometime this month -- has anyone heard anything else about this new fragrance? I'm wearing Eau de Campagne & Eau Sauvage this summer, and I think the idea of a new sheer Hermès with the scent of planted herbs sounds amazing.

Honestly, that sheer fresh basil fragrance does sound reeeaaaalllyyy good to me.

Nagel has done a good job so far, maybe not flawless as people expect, but she does the brand justice IMO.
Agreed sounds really nice! I'm a fan of the cologne series although the only one I own is Neroli Dore which might be the most slept on fragrance of all time, I adore it.

I also enjoy a 15ml of Gentiane Blanche, although I find I prefer Angelique Sous la Pluie which does a similar thing and I already own it, so getting a full bottle might be redundant for me.

Also been considering a bottle of Pamplemousse Rose or Mandarin Ambre if one pops up for a good price on the discounters, usually they aren't reduced much. Can't go wrong with any of these for a fun summer wear.

Not sure why basil is becoming so popular in perfume. Obviously they've found a herbal note that is somewhat innovative but actually smelling like basil is a weird thing to want.

Can't say I'm impressed with this line of fragrances. Mandarine Ambree is absolutely atrocious, a complete let down.

Oooh, I'm very excited about this. I love basil notes - Lime, Basil and Mandarin is one of my favorite smells, although I find it too expensive and fleeting to ever purchase. I love Vietnamese food and have always wanted a fragrance that smelled like a salad roll with the fresh/pungent cilantro, purple basil (which this would appear to represent specifically) and shiso. I haven't been the world's biggest fan of Nagel, but maybe that's because I am the world's biggest fan of JCE and those are big shoes to fill. I'll definitely test this one!

There it is! Thank you so much Speedway. Purple basil? Interesting name, and I for one cannot wait!

I haven't yet found a love for Nagel's work with Hermès, but I do enjoy her Cedre Sambac, Cardamusc, and the new Terre, so I'm always open to fall in love.
