Hi, can you guys rank these four fragrances in Masculinity, Longevity/Projection, "Sexiness"/Date scent

New Haarlem is the closest to my "holy grail" fragrance. Just trying to see if there's anything that I might enjoy just as much out there.

Ambre Narguile - Sexy in the bottle, balanced airy, good longevity;
New Haarlem - I love it, perfect, balanced excellent longevity.
Spiritueuse Double Vanille - Boozy, classy vanille;
Tobaco Vanille - Monster projection, screams "Hello I am wearing a expensive perfume!!" IMO VERY Vulgar!

I'm in the same boat as you.

New Haarlem is really impressive to me and I was extremely close to buying it yesterday, but I ordered a decant of Tobacco Vanille just to make sure.

I'm wondering which has more "universal appeal" - TV or NH. After all, other people need to like the frag too or there's no point in wearing it imo.

i tried NH, SDV, and TV and the only one I bought was NH precisely because of "universal appeal"
-SDV: loveeee it. boozy, sensual vanillia. however leaned towards the feminine side
-TV: did not get to the dry down because i was busy scrubbing it off. hated the top
-NH: very well balanced. had the gourmand scent i was looking for w/o being too feminine.strange thing is, i absolutely hated NH on paper (it sickly sweet, cinnabonny thick maple syrup). i kept going back to sample it because of the awesome reviews and when i tried it on my skin, i immediately fell in love.

one i haven't got to try yet is Ambre Narguile. I was hoping someone could comment on if it is more masculine or feminine than NH or SDV.

If you are making over $100,000 per year: Ambre Narguile and Spirituese Double Vanille

$50,000-$100,000: Tobacco Vanille

<$50,000: New Haarlem

I haven't actually smelled Amber or Double Vanille, but I'm sure that vast vast vast majority of people on this site would do something like this:

1st tier- Spiriteuse Double Vanille

everything else

I would consider Bond no.9 I love NY for All. It blows NH out of the water in my opinion. But what do I know.

-SDV is the best vanilla on the market IMO. Isn't a projection beast though, which is part of its charm. Very elegant, yet comforting. Would work wonders on a date, also wearable during the day.
-New Haarlem is great for a night out in cooler weather. Projects well, smells great, and will get noticed.
-Tobacco Vanille is too brash for me. It's loud and linear. Very masculine, but some younger girls find it too "old."

Haven't had the pleasure of smelling Ambre Narguile yet, but I hear it's great.

Masculinity would go to TV. Projection and longevity would go to NH. Sexy/Date scent would go to SDV. Amber Narguile I love to smell, but on the opposite sex.

As far as which one is better would come down to personal preference.

I don't find any of them overly masculine, maybe Tobacco Vanille would be most, the other 3 are pretty close. Project, also pretty close, they're all great at it. Also, they're all in the longevity category I call "on you until you take a shower" Sexiness? subjective. But I will say my favorite is SDV, followed by AN, followed by TV, and lastly NH (and it's good but it just can't compare)

I was a bit underwhelmed by New Harleem even if it's definately good. If it has holy grail status with you check out Penhaligons Endymion as well. Coffee, to me, never gets better than when you drown your nose in a newly opened coffee package.

If your dates soft spot is sweet bakery, you cannot go wrong with Ambre Narguile. It. Is. Not. Possible.

The other two are cute substitutes pointing in the same direction, minus the dried fruit.

Tobacco Vanille
Spirituese Double Vanille
Ambre Narguile

New Haarlem...... sorry, I find New Haarlem to be one of the most overrated fragrances.

Masculinity: TV, NH, SDV, AN
Longevity/Projection:TV, SDV, AN, NH
Sexiness/Date scent: SDV, TV, AN, NH

My personal favorite is SDV, though I also own and love TV. AN I liked, but found it to be slightly too feminine for my tastes. NH I don't like at all. Found it very 'sickly'.

You might want to check out Pure Havane too.

I get no tabacco, but I do get a lot of sweetness, and I've had a lot of positive feedback from women.
