The first feminine pillar by Christine Nagel. Rose and leather among the notes.

I hate the bottle almost as much as I hate the name - how could Hermes fail me so?

LOL!!!

Come, come. Hermès only does two kinds of bottles - ridiculously old school or ridiculously funky. Let Hermès be Hermès!

My wife is into their horsey products almost as much as I'm into their frags. Looks like interbreeding between their current stirrup lineup:

I'd read that Hermès was trying to get back to their equestrian roots. Sure looks that way!

True! It's just....SO hideous. I don't think most people (outside of Hermes fans) would see it as a stirrup. Wrong. Just wrong. May as well throw the Voyage bottle in that category as well.

I'm still drawing a blank on the Voyage bottle. The big one reminds me of a Japanese pencil sharpener (the Japanese make *outstanding* pencil sharpeners, BTW). Doubt it's that.

In any case, this fragrance is of extreme interest to me. Please, please, please let it be guy-friendly!!!

Yes, the bottle is really awful. How are you supposed to hold it?

I'm just not a fan of useless function in this case - sliding the cover over the sprayer makes it look awkward and weird....like you should be able to push it down to seal it, but you can't.

And what is with Hermes' fascination with putting perfume bottles on necklaces? Do they think someone will wear a perfume bottle? https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/nd.10.jpg

Found more info on the Voyage bottle:

I knew it looked like some kind of ultra-modernized steampunk object, or was based on some kind of navigational or cartographic tool. Folding magnifier - OK - got it. LOL! I love those things, but I do find the Voyage bottle mildly annoying in spite of some sort of coolness.

Wearing a perfume bottle? LOL - I think I'm in love with the idea of a woman who would do that! It's like the rapper-necklace version of the scented locket. BNer for sure!

Wow, hideous presentation and the name isn't great either. But will sniff it anyway.

As it is Nagel creation it should be more feminine than any of Ellena's feminine creation. She's not really into unisex.

Well, dang me. I always thought it was supposed to be a pocket compass. I used to have an antique one with a leather swivel cover that looked just like the Voyage bottle.

Ugly name/bottle notwithstanding, I'm always up for a leathery rose. And with Nagel at the helm, hopefully it'll be meatier than the Ellena products. Always hoping someone will try to recreate Paco Rabanne's La Nuit.

I love equestrian gear, but I have to admit that the bottle is still a bit off-putting. It simply looks hard to pick up. It will be very interesting to see it and touch it in real life.

I am assuming that the name also references dance - when I looked up galop, the first thing that pops up is the dance named after the horse's gallop.

Y'all are right; the name is dreadful. What are they smoking at Hermès?

Horsefeathers!

Given her past work, I have to agree. She's done a boatload of feminines. I just hope that, since feminine leathers are generally easy for guys to poach, she doesn't go TOO girly on it.

It's really a shame. My wife loves the horse stuff, and she loves rose, but she's generally not a fan of leather, except in MY fragrances.

Pocket compass actually sounds more like it.

Yes, I agree with the expectation that this will be more substantial - and I hope they let her go there. I own a few of her things, and they are not shy. Hermès could use a bit of that, after years of Ellena transparency.

Well, but she did create some unisex stuff. The lovely Eau de Cartier for example. After a decade or so I might get another bottle of this for summer.

It looks interesting so far, although I'm not sure if fragrantica had full information as I guess there should be other notes as well?

Will try it, but here in Germany it will be at counters a few months later anyway.. Maybe for christmas..

This might actually be something my granddaughter might be interested in.
