Interesting...I'm surprised they're as affordable as they are.

I agree they seem almost downright affordable, for Amouage.

Anyone smell these?

Am I missing something or is Al Andalus mentioned but not actually listed for sale on the site? That's disappointing as Al Andalus sounds the most interesting to me and has a ton of notes I absolutely love (rosemary, orange blossom, sandalwood, clary sage and geranium.. woot! :D)

I spoke to them direct and ordered - will report back. I also noticed on another site (I think Harrods) that Al Andalus was listed as part of the Homage pyramid. Let's see . . .

I own the Musk attar and though it is not as complex as i.e. Al Shomoukh or Homage, it is a beautiful, high-quality and long-lasting musk scent. Amouage's single-note focused attars may be cheaper due to their more affordable ingredients.

It is a clean musk (think Keiko Mechei's or Mazzolari's musk) with a slightly animalic base; not like MKK or MR.

I've sniffed Al Andalous and Sandalwood and both seemed to be very similar to other typical Middle Eastern attars of the same respective genres, with a fair dose of clearly synthetic ingredients. The Musk Abyadh (or white musk) is by definition a synthetic fragrance although if it's the same Musk Abyadh they have listed as a note in their Al Shomoukh attar then it's arguably of higher quality that cheap white musk attars sold in the Middle East. The Sandalwood attar was not unpleasant but not anywhere near the pure sandalwood oil.

btw I am pretty sure I also had an Al Andalus, and unfortunately I gave it to a friend of mine cause it reminded me of green irish tweed without the "green". Unforunately cause his dogs did something with it :( I had wanted to try it again all I could ever find was a chewed up box. I gave it to him before I sold my GIT now I wish I had it to play around with but wouldn't likely purchase it again. The Sandal is very medicinal, like a cough crop. That sounds strange but it's gorgeous.

Gerald, is this what the Musk Abyadh looks like? This is the only picture I could find of it on the internet and I'm not sure it's accurate.

Any further thoughts on the musk abyadh would be appreciated. I am really looking for a nice clean white musk fragrance that is never harsh or overbearing like so many white musks can be. The idea of a simple but high quality blend of sandalwood, vanilla, and white musk is quite intriguing to me. Would you consider this scent masculine, feminine, or perfectly unisex? Is it woody at all? How long does it last?

Thanks!

I haven't. When I heard it was quite similar to Bulgari PH I was turned off. Well, that and the price. I don't know why but to me Nasomatto just seems like one of those niche brands built around artificial high prices and exclusivity rather than real quality. That's not entirely fair of me to say as I've not sampled their fragrances and am only going off of others' opinions of fragrances like Duro and such, but that's the impression I've had for a long time and as such I've never even felt the urge to sample them.

Yes, that's the standard bottle all Amouage attars come in.

I find it absolutely wearable for a man and quite long-lasting (yet it stays quite close to the skin). Given its moderate price, I find it definitely worth a try.

Thanks Gerald. :D

Is the musk abyadh actually clear in color like that or is it golden like Homage or more orange like Tribute?
