Having already worn it once, happen to enjoy this new Armani release.
What's your take on it @hednic ?

Where would you say it sits in the EDT/EDP/Profumo scale?

I haven't seen it in the UK yet but I'm travelling abroad in about a week and a half so will keep an eye out for it.

This may be a little controversial because I got one of my crazier compliments with Profumo and I have a newer bottle left…but this doesn't phase me anymore. I do think it was their best work in awhile but the bottle I have now....while still retaining the start to finish DNA...just seems weaker. If that was the direction then no skin off my back. I hope this is a good one.

Tried and bought this morning at the airport.

First impressions are.... pleasantly surprised.

Definitely has the Profumo DNA in it but the incense isn't as prominent from the opening. It is definitely there though, and overall it wears a bit lighter than Profumo.

I'll need a few wearings to get a proper feel for it but I'm certainly happier smelling this for the first time than I was when I tried the EDP for the first time.

One man's "marginal differences" is another man's "they butchered it".
Personally I don't think they've butchered it but it's NOT Profumo.

Don't go into it with the mindset of "Profumo's Replacement". It's pretty much it's own thing and as the day has gone on I'm enjoying it more and more.

But that's exactly what's happening. Everyone is wondering whether it's just a rebranding and repackaging and not a reformulation. Given that Profumo is now discontinued, I doubt this reasoning somehow is going to appease Profumo fans, especially since pretty much every review right now makes every possible effort to compare Parfum to Profumo (obviously attempting to convince folks that change is good, from what I can see so far). I imagine the response will be "you had a universally praised winner on your hands and you replaced it with yet another flanker nobody asked for". Just my guess.

Supposedly Profumo was discontinued because Parfum is it's incarnate. Most reviews seem to lean towards Parfum to be 99% identical to Profumo retaining the citrus and incense. Profumo got an update, but I feel Profumo was already perfect. Will most likely have to order it because I don't know when my local stores will get it. I'm still enjoying Profundo in these warm summer months.

Does it smell more like the recent EDP, or does it share more with Profumo ?

Reason I ask -

I cannot stand the EDP.

It seems to be interpreted very differently by people, some even claim it's Essenza reincarnated haha.
It's mostly a merging of the AdG DNA in many of its previous forms, there are some slight elements of the EDP in there. Not as bothersome though.

At the same time it isn't exactly close to 2015-2019 Profumo either.

Good to know. How about the patchouli?

I have ambivalent feelings towards Profumo. There are days that I enjoy it, and there are days that I find it too synthetic, and loaded with too much patch.

A lighter iteration does not sound bad in my book.

The patchouli seems reigned in a little bit too. I guess it would be best if you try it. I do feel that there may be a different aroma chemical used for the Incense note than that used in Profumo. It's similar but different in the same way that Comme des Garcons used different "flavours" of Incense for their line.

I'm going to have to do a side by side comparison when I get home from this break.

I finally managed to try it and I have to say my faith is restored. They kept the accord very close the Profumo if you ask me and it’s not a devastation in any way.

I want to give it more time and to try it on from multiple bottles/testers before I come up with some more firm comments. But first impressions are definitely thumbs up 👍

I did a side by side comparison on tester cards and have also done a full day wearing Profumo on one side, Parfum on the other.

I think Parfum opens with a little more of a herbal feel to it where I find Profumo goes straight for the Incense. However the Incense comes in with Parfum and matches that of Profumo. Projection and longevity are matched between the two and I am struggling to find any other differences between them.

As @rum has said above the accords are very close and I'll be happy to continue wearing Parfum when my Profumo is done.

If anything the marginal changes they've made in Parfum actually make it a more versatile fragrance.

Thanks for this - I agree with all your comments, especially the points about it being very close to Profumo and that Parfum is even more versatile. I found Profumo quite had to wear in the winter months, although it works wonders in the summer.

Thus far, the youtube reviewers say it's practically a rebottled AdG Profumo, being somewhat different in the initial spray and almost the same in the drydown.
