MFK Launches Aqua Media Cologne Forte

When I made a purchase online this week, I noticed that they were including samples of a fragrance I'd never heard of: Aqua Media Cologne Forte.

The new release by Maison Francis Kurkdjian was announced this week, and is signed by Mr. Kurkdjian himself.

Notes include: Essence of Italian Bergamot, Verbena Accord, Sweet Fennel, Woody Musk, Patchouli, Green Moss, and Hedione.

I agree the name is weird. "Medium water strong cologne?"

The purchase was a gift for my mother so I won't get to sniff the samples. I would ask her, but her comments are only ever "it smells so good!"

What timing, I just saw it at Nordstrom today, I got a spray on card and sample to take home. As usual with MFK it's fairly synthetic clean musk but the green minty direction is something new for the line. I liked it but I'll give more impressions after I give the sample a full wear, I smelled a lot today and it's all a blur!

I hope that someone at MFK keeps track of their names because as they continue like this one day they will be able to mistakenly launch a new fragrance with the same name as an old one.

Having tried the 'masculine' discovery set, I'm not sure this line needs more overpowering laundry musk + a little something else . The discovery set was underwhelming solely because of the fact that Aqua universalis, Amyris homme, 724 and to a certain extent l'homme a la rose smell like flankers with very small variations. Let's hope this is a bit more different.

I'm already confused. How many fragrances have they launched with the names aqua, cologne and forte in it? I think this could break the BN directory!

I posted about it in "what did you try today" a few weeks ago, but agree that Aqua Media Cologne Forte would be hard to dislike!

I tested this very briefly and the immediate impression was that it actually was sweeter than the other Aquas in the line. but i need to retest.

anyway, as others noted, it seems that the cologne/aqua line is brining in cash for the brand. I must say, to me they are indeed more interesting than the non aqua offerings.

I got the bar soap, they released it in all the Cologne Forte scents. I must say I think it works better as a soap and I enjoy the fragrance left in my bathroom. Still on the fence about it as a fragrance, it smells nice but I find the dry down of all the Cologne Forte range so disappointing and bland.

I wonder if they will reverse flanker this and eventually release a regular Aqua Media in EDP, that might be nice.
