Today is The Beach. Just felt like a perfect Las Vegas day for it. I really like the nostalgic art of the PAA/Italian Barber label from the past over the newer sci-fi art on this scent, but the scent is the same as it was. The scent is a very niche and 'artsy' atmospheric piece. I think it shows what PAA is all about even if most people might think it's too off-the-map for them. PAA's scents like this one and "La Tierra Mojada", "Tombstone", "Tea Party 508", "Solstice", "Copalli", "Harvest Moon", "Grove" and many seasonals, often remind me of the great effort that Maison Margiela has created with their "Replica" series. The Replica series attempts to "take you somewhere" with their scents like "Jazz Club", "At the Barber's", "By the Fireplace", "Beach Walk", "When the Rain Stops", "Matcha Meditation", etc.
If you're seeing a parallel with PAA I think you're getting my observation. PAA has done an impressive job creating real fragrance art on the same level as a major fragrance house who employ many different perfumers. So, my point is that you're getting a lot more with PAA than you may realize or appreciate. A small vendor like this taking all of these chances and offering them affordably should be supported by the frag community. Their aftershave/colognes usually perform like EDT's and are extremely affordable at $26.
