Have you ever tired a scent that strongly reminds you of something from your distant past, but you don't know what?
That's what this is doing, and no, it's not the canabis note. I just barely started to detect it a couple of hours into the dry down.
Not sure if I love it or hate, but interesting experience so far. Probably better suited to cooler months.
I picked up their 15 sample set, took a few weeks, but arrived yesterday. Sadly most of Monsieur had leaked, so I got a good dose of it out of the box. I've seen some scathing reviews, Persolaise in particular, but I found it to be quite nice, and thought the frankincense really made it work for me. Considering how manly I felt wearing it, I'd say the title fits
The dry down was a bit lacking in it though, and when the woody/oud notes started to dominate, it did remind me enough of others in my collection that I'm not sure if it would be redundant. I think I might have one more wearings worth in the bottle, just have to make sure to keep it upright until I get back around to it!
