SOTD : Xerjoff 17/17 Homme, from a sample provided by a generous Basenoter.
Its resemblance to Etro Gomma is striking (as opposed to Knize Ten - there are resemblances there too, but not as great), though 17/17 Homme is thicker, at least to start with. ETA : and the longevity is long enough to get bored with it (12 hours and still booming). The base has occasional hints of toffee or caramel, and something cake-like. Def sweeter and heavier than Gomma or K10. The base again reminds me of the drydown of Bel Ami, which I prefer.
I prefer Gomma (unfortunately discontinued), a clearer and more aromatic leather (with artemisia/sagebrush).
If you want to the same kind of thing at a sensible price, go for Knize Ten. And buy a bottle of Bel Ami while you're at it.
Pascal Morabito - Or Black. (Can any of you enlighten me about this bottle? Pictures I have seen are usually of a metal framed clear bottle. Also seen is a rectangular bottle in one single picture.)
