My 50ml bottles of the EDP and EDT are half finished I need to buy backups of both, still need to snag the Parfum version. There's something about wearing Chance and feeling like you can take on anything, that's how I feel when I wear it.

100% in agreement with the way it makes one feel! I made the mistake of buying the 150 ml of the edt—way too big to handle—and even the 100 ml of the edp is a little unwieldy. I now have a 50ml edp backup and will do the same for the edt, way to go for me now too. The parfum is more delicate than both edt and edp and very lovely. Enjoy!

I have Chance EDP in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml but if I keep a spare 50ml as a back up I won't feel so bad and it'll keep the balance I have a habit for going for odd numbers same applies to the EDT. Despite me having the other flankers namely Tendre EDT and Vive EDT too it's a habit trying to maintain odd numbers is tricky but here's hoping it'll work and not drive me to get the other flanker just to make sure they don't land on a even number.

Do you mean an odd number of bottles of a scent?

One thing I wondered about: in SOTD you mentioned layering to make the scent last longer. Do you perceive a longevity issue with the edt or edp? I find them both nuclear and need to apply far less of Chance than most other perfumes.

I've never been a fan of even numbers in my mind it looks wrong so I try and aim for things to be in odd numbers it's a compulsion I guess...

Yeah the EDP doesn't last that long on me 5 hours later it's barely a skin scent sadly, so I decided to experiment and try combining the EDT and the EDP together and it lasted around 8 hours.

Both concentrations of Chance last a long time on me but oddly enough, I do find the edt lasts longer.

I have a friend who also has a preference for odd numbers. For the most part I'm impartial as to odd or even.

Like tdem, most in my collection were love at first (or second) sniff, but Angel and Chanel No.5 took me years to like.

And Chanel No. 19 took *decades*. I thought for the longest time that it wasn't green enough, but now I've grown to really like it. I find it the most serene of all the greens, which suits me just fine these days.

For me, Guerlain Habit Rouge, and Chanel Egoiste took a while to get used to--but now they are both absolute loves! Everything else in my collection I liked or loved right away--even the blind buys--which make up at least half of my perfumes.

Most of my favourite perfumes were instant loves, including Mitsouko, Chypre-Siam, Femme, Diaghilev, Paloma Picasso, Teatro alla Scala, Salome.

Those that had to grow on me: Amouage Epic, which felt too spicy, too everything, at first. But it smelled so beautiful on my wool sweater that I kept my mini bottle, and eventually started really liking it. Lyric, similarly, I was on a fence about for a while, but eventually decided I love it. In a totally different genre, I received a bottle of vintage Safari in a bundle swap and initially thought it was merely okay, but it's ended up being one of my most worn fragrances.

Sometimes the instant love (or better "instant wow") can be deceiving. Amouage Journey was one that I bought based on a first wow effect and eventually decided it didn't work for me, so I sold it. Jubilation 25 was an instant love, but I stopped reaching for it because I always had a better option (listed above) so I sold that, too. I hope I've learned not to jump too quickly.

Lubin Idole EdP grew on me. The initial incense was for a time a bit much to me, so I didn't wait for the drydown. Now I've been thinking to enlist it in the top 3 ever.

Tragically (because of its obnoxiously, outrageously high price point), Roja Fetish really grew on me. Elysium Eau Intense is getting there, too.

I didn't like Jubilation XXV Man the first time I tried it, and I had to give it more skin time before it finally won me over.

Hmm...'Love at first sniff' for me was Osswald's Meringa by Profumum Roma. As a kid, and even to this day, I have loved lemon meringue pie and although they are hardly the same thing - Meringa's performance and scent profile is so delightful and the sentiment it gives is so strong -- it was an instant love at first sniff...Mmmm, that's some good juice!

The 'grower' was Creed's Jardin d'Amalfi. I ordered various decants from Scent Split a decade or so ago and JDA was one of them. On first sniff from the open decant, I initially thought it was fruity & feminine, so I gave it to Wifey. Fast forward a few days later and as I'm downstairs reading one morning, I can smell one of the most amazingly lucid scents I'd ever had the pleasure of smelling wafting thru the house. Shouted out to Wifey, asking her what that beautiful scent is, and she said - "It's the Jardin d'Amalfi you gave me" - After that, I ordered some more, and now it is our favorite.

Cheers
