I don't have access to Herbanate but would like to use it in a formula. Can anyone with experience please suggest a comparable molecule that might be more widely available or if anyone (near Australia) has some I'd appreciate a trade of a small amount.

Cheers,
James

I have an awareness of a vast number of ACs (even if I have not smelled half of them) but cannot think of any one off the top of my head that is (overall) extremely similar to this one.

Trying to choose an alternative depends very much on the situation, the exact type of smell that is desired, and the formula within which it would be used. Herbanate is going to have many specific facets to its smell. Which ones specifically are desirable to you?

There are many ACs that have "herbal" qualities.

There are many simple esters that have a "fruity pineapple banana" smell, if that is the part that you think would be desirable.

The thing is, no one can tell you what a "substitute" would be in this case unless they know exactly why you want a substitute.

Vigon sells Herbanate but the minimum purchase quantity is 1kg for 359 USD (going down to 244 per kg for a 5kg order). At that price, I suspect most likely it would not be worth it.

Givaduan has this {arrow pointing to Herbanate}, but I don't know how helpful it is regarding an alternative. 2023-08-28 18_52_18-.png
