Here's Peter, Paul and Mary singing a catchy tune about the lemon flower and fruit.

As it plays in the background, I'll ask:
So what are your favorite lemon-dominated scents?

Today I'm wearing a little-discussed Spanish scent: Agua di Colonia concentrada. It is inexpensive and yet has very good lemon and rosemary notes. It has a liquid soap that makes a great shower product.

Other worthy contenders: Jean-Marie Farina (aka Extra Vielle by Roger & Gallet) and the lovely and complex Eau Sauvage by Dior.

Spritz!

Art of Shaving Lemon EdT........If you're looking for lemon, it doesn't get any better than this!!

Easily a unisex, incredibly fresh, dries down crisp with a gentle warm woodsiness. The lemon lasts 8 hours!!!

Lemon, petitgrain, bergamot, mandarin leaf
magnolia, jasmine, white lily, cyclamen
oakmoss, vetiver

I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who likes citrus frags. It is probably in my all-time top 3 frags.

There are so many, and I'll say Eau d'Hadrien is one of my supreme favorites, but one that has actually made me think of the song is L'Artisan Parfumeur's Zeste d'Eté.

It was one of the house's annual summer limited editions and came in a 295ml splash bottle for about US$95, retail. After the summer was over I got a bottle for less than that, but wish I had picked up another.

It's very simple and pretty straightforward in smell, but the word I heard about its concept is that it was made to be all elements of the lemon tree--leaves, fruit (peel, pith, and juice), and wood. A fantastic idea.

I like the scent a lot and find its woody base carries the scent a long time, but it's uncomplicated in smell. I like it especially for the concept idea, so that helps me enjoy it all day long too.

I actually love Carthusia's Mediterraneo. I can't wear it on my skin - it gets sweet quickly and I start getting the negative notes others have gone on about in their (almost always negative) reviews. I spray it on my pillow before I go to bed. It inspires wonderful dreams and is still right there when I wake up. When I heard the song I immediately though of it - very lemon, very pretty lemon tree.

Eau Sauvage (As French as they come -- crisp and tailored, yet bright and upbeat.)
Lux by Mona di Orio (Musty, dusty serious lemon.)
Versus by Versace (Lemon pie with cream.)

Lemon isn't usually my thing, but I love the lemon in Stéphanie de Saint-Aignan's LI ALTARELLI. It's luscious and natural-smelling.

The Thymes "Limon"! Discontinued now, like most of my favorites.

"Fresh-squeezed extracts of lemon and lime... pink pomelo, tangy kumquat, sweet mandarin leaf and luscious black currant, with hints of freesia and jasmine..."

Clarins Eau Dynamisante. One of the great "uplifting, aroma therapy" frags, which, in reality means, it just smells great! A lemon topped, refreshing, well priced and perfectly balanced EdC. Yum! :)

I agree with all the Eau Sauvage fans here....seriously wonderful lemon. Love it

I'll add in Armani's Eau Pour Homme and the new-to-me freshness of Monsieur Balmain as members of the "lemon power" movement.

And I gotta add....I like the lemon notes in the beginnings of both Guerlain Vetiver (newer) and Caron's Pour Un Homme.

:)

YSL Pour Homme for me. Luscious stuff. One of the few lemon fragrances that have longevity. I also love the crisp lemon in Bowling Green, which lasts beautifully throughout the whole woodsy dry down. The opening of Boucheron is a beautiful lemon too that leads you along by the hand into that strange, elegant mystery of its middle and base.
Of course... then there's Habit Rouge! No discussion of lemon would be complete without my favourite 'comfort fragrance'. Lemon candy for real men!
